Jim Leonhard owns the Wisconsin record with 21 interceptions so if we want to break it (currently at 9), going to need another year like last year

Coach Singleton's Post Game
Q: You guys were big favorites coming into the game and while you still won the game, how do you manage the locker room when the game was a lot closer than experts anticipated?
A: I think our guys know we didn't play our best, especially offensively early in the game and defensively, in the last sections. We gave up a big touchdown that's completely inexcusable but offense was able to bail us out, score that last minute touchdown. We still did a lot of good things on defense but there's a ton of room for improvements, especially situationally with that late touchdown and some key third downs they were able to convert.
Q: We saw a lot of pressures that weren't able to result in sacks, how can the team improve on that?
A: Get longer arms (laughs). We just have to finish, get the guy to the ground. Pressures aren't created equal so while it's a great stat to rack up, you also want to get sacks because those are guaranteed negative outcomes for the offense while on a pressure, if the [quarterback] has a hot read, he can dump it off for a quick gain or even a touchdown so we just need to finish.
Q: There wasn't as much rotation with Colorado State being in a hurry-up offense for most of the game, how do you prepare the guys from series to series knowing that you might not get a chance to talk to them or really communicate with them for an entire drive?
A: Great question. It's really about establishing that trust and understanding throughout the offseason and into the year. We have a lot of experienced guys on the defense, especially in the box so as I'm signaling in the calls, they sort of know before I even finish, what we're about to settle into so by the third, fourth snap of the series where they haven't huddled yet, they sort of know what I want and what we're expecting from them.

The lack of offense is going to come back to bite us, potentially as early as our next gameCaptain Canada wrote: ↑05 Aug 2024, 12:35Took the dub despite the offense not showing up too much. We move

Coach Singleton's Notes:
‣ Despite their record, by far the best team we've played this year talent wise and might be the best team that we played
‣ Air Noland has superstar potential, don't let this be his breakout game
‣ Bottle up James Peoples and T.J. Course as those are the game breakers
‣ We have to keep our guys fresh and rotated, especially up front and at linebacker. Christian Alliegro needs more snaps, as does Coco Generals and Stewart Sullivan.
