Stafford, Rams overwhelm Titans in 45-5 rout
Cam Ward’s first home start with the Tennessee Titans was supposed to be a celebration. Instead, it became a long afternoon of growing pains, as Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams rolled to a 45-5 victory Sunday at Nissan Stadium.

Stafford picked apart Tennessee’s secondary, completing 32 of 37 passes for 344 yards and five touchdowns. Puka Nacua hauled in three of them, while Davante Adams and Tutu Atwell also found the end zone as Los Angeles silenced the Titans crowd by halftime.

Tennessee actually got on the board early thanks to an unusual sequence — Nacua fumbled out of his own end zone for a safety on a jet sweep, and Joey Slye drilled a 42-yard field goal. That would be their last bright moment. Stafford answered with three touchdown drives in the second quarter alone, flipping control permanently.

Ward, making his first start at Nissan Stadium, showed flashes with 172 passing yards but was under siege all afternoon. He was sacked five times, threw an interception when hurried out of the pocket, and saw little help from a ground game that managed just 11 rushing yards from starter Tony Pollard.

“I’ve got to be better at getting the ball out,” Ward said. “It wasn’t the home debut I wanted, but I’ll learn from it.”

The Rams’ defense made sure of that. Rookie edge rusher Jared Verse posted two sacks and even snagged an interception, while Braden Fiske added 1.5 sacks inside. Tennessee’s offensive line never found an answer for their relentless pressure.

‣ NFL 2025 Regular Season, Week 3 - Nissan Stadium, Nashville, Tennessee
(1-2) Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans (1-2)

IND | 0 | 3 | 9 | 8 | 20

Ward leads late drive as Titans hold off Colts for first win
am Ward delivered his first signature moment as the Tennessee Titans’ quarterback, leading a late scoring drive capped by a three-yard touchdown to Tyler Lockett with 39 seconds left as the Titans earned a 24-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at Nissan Stadium.

Ward, making just his third NFL start, finished with 261 passing yards and two touchdowns, showing poise in crunch time after the Colts tied the game earlier in the fourth quarter. His final drive featured key completions to Chigoziem Okonwo and Calvin Ridley before he found Lockett in the corner of the end zone for the game-winner.

The Colts nearly answered behind Anthony Richardson. The former first round pick broke off two long scrambles and drew a defensive pass interference that placed the ball at the Tennessee 20-yard line with only seconds remaining. Richardson completed a short pass inbounds, but time expired before the Colts could spike the ball or set up another play.

Tennessee jumped out early when Ward connected with Ridley for a three-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Tony Pollard extended the lead before halftime with a two-yard run, part of a 115-yard day on the ground. His versatility also showed in the passing game, adding 64 yards on eight catches.

Indianapolis battled back behind Jonathan Taylor’s 94 rushing yards and Richardson’s ability to extend plays. Richardson threw a two-yard touchdown to tight end Tyler Warren in the fourth quarter to take their first lead of the game.
