Steelers defeat Ravens in Baltimore, on the verge of clinching playoff spot

After a tense, defensive first quarter that saw a 38 yard Chris Boswell field goal as the only score the Steelers went off in the second quarter, scoring 21 points that would prove to be more than enough to knock off the Ravens.

Najee Harris broke off a 36 yard touchdown run to make it 10-0 Pittsburgh. After a Ravens three and out it was Cade Cannon scoring on a sneak to make it 17-0 Steelers.

After the ensuing kickoff Joe Haden picked off Lamar Jackson and returned it 48 yards to the house, giving Pittsburgh a 24-0 lead at the break.

Baltimore would finally get on the board with 16 seconds left in the third quarter when Jackson[/b[ found tight end Mark Andrews for a three yard score. Jackson threw incomplete on the two point conversion attempt.

Pittsburgh ran the ball and the clock in the fourth quarter to hold on for the 24-6 win.

The Steelers totaled 247 yards of offense and held Baltimore to just 113 total.

Harris led the way with 89 yards rushing on 20 carries while Cannon picked up 52 on five runs. Through the air Cannon went 7/11 for 128 yards.

Baltimore's offense struggled all day. Jackson threw for just 67 yards on 9/16 passing with a touchdown and an interception. J.K. Dobbins led the Ravens with just 36 yards on ten carries.

Diontae Johnson picked up 80 yards on three receptions to lead all receivers.

And so Pittsburgh's ride is likely to continue — provided the Raiders and Chargers don’t tie later on Sunday. If Las Vegas and Los Angeles do tie, whether they elect to play the game that way or not, that would eliminate the Steelers and both the Chargers and Raiders would make the postseason.

The Steelers’ playoff hopes became more realistic after the Jaguars defeated the Colts on Sunday.
