toying around with the sliders, specifically wr catching to get more drops to help bring down the user offensive passing numbers. Mac Jones was on a record pace before, like the feel now a bit more.

Patriots LT Isaiah Wynn agrees to four year, $62.3 million extension
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- — Despite battling with injuries and inconsistent plays, New England chose to pick up Isaiah Wynn's fifth-year option last season, extending him through 2022. It was a gamble of sort, paying the former first-round pick upwards of $10 million while allowing Wynn to prove it on the field. The gamble, for both parties, has paid off.

New England and Wynn agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $62.3 million, with $34.9 million guaranteed. ESPN first reported the news.

The contract extension will keep Wynn as the team's left tackle for the foreseeable future and perhaps most importantly, through Mac Jones' rookie contract. The agreement came the week before the NFL trade deadline which might have served as a target date of sorts for New England to decide what they were going to do with Wynn on the final year of his contract.

The extension put Wynn in the upper half of the NFL left-tackles compensation wise, with a cap hit of $14.4 million in 2023 which escalates up to $16.9 million in 2026. By comparison, another 2018 first round pick left tackle in Las Vegas' Kolton Miller had a cap hit of $16.8 million this season which de-escalates to $12.3 by 2025.

After missing the first two games of the season, Wynn has been among the NFL's best players, regardless of position according to his Pro Football Focus grade. He's got an average PFF grade of 87.3 on the year.

McCreary, Patriots defense seal win over Rams with late interception
New England and the Los Angeles Rams entered the season with similar expectations with varying subtext as New England had the NFL's most prized possession which is a good quarterback on a rookie scale surrounded by a good roster while the Rams had been continuously pushing their chips towards the table, going all in with a veteran quarterback that was likely on his last legs as a truly elite quarterback.

They both entered Sunday night in must-win mode with New England having lost their last two games and the Rams on the cusp of having their season already being over.

Down six points in the last minute of the game, Robert Woods outleaped Jonathan Jones but couldn't haul the pass in, sending the ball flying behind him into the receiving arms of Patriots rookie cornerback Roger McCreary to give New England the 30-24 win over the Rams on Sunday night.

In the midst of a flurry of offense in the second quarter where both teams would combine to score 35 points, Stafford had given the Rams a one-point lead with 58 seconds left in the half following a seven-yard touchdown pass to Odell Beckham Jr.

New England seemed content to go into the half down just a point but after the Rams called a timeout with 45 seconds left in the game on 3rd and 7, the Patriots dialed up a screen pass to Damien Harris which went for 16 yards and the first down. Harris would finish the game with 175 yards rushing but that screen pass might have been the biggest play of his field day.

Jones would complete a 22-yard pass to Charleston Rambo before completing passes of one, three and sixteen yards to Dalton Keene to set up first and goal from the Rams' eight-yard line with no timeouts left and seven seconds left. New England opted to keep their offense on the field, instead of kicking the field goal as Jones found Jakobi Meyers for the eight-yard touchdown which would turn out to be perhaps the most important sequence of the game.
