Missed kick and pick sixes end Patriots winning streak in 24-21 loss to Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers had seen New England grab victory from the jaws of defeat just a week ago, overcoming a four-point deficit in just one play to beat the Minnesota Vikings. They weren't going to let them off the hook this easily.

After New England made it a three-point game with 2:07 left in the game, the Chargers were able to run out the clock to beat New England 24-21 and end their winning streak on Monday night.

Mac Jones' second pick six of the night gave Los Angeles a 24-13 lead with 2:14 left in the game. Jones had thrown another pick to end the first half, that one for 95-yards when New England was in position to go up two scores before the end of the half and getting the ball back to start the second half.

New England went three-and-out after Derwin James' touchdown and Los Angeles had the ball on their own 46-yard line when Justin Herbert was sacked by Matt Judon, who would finish the night with four sacks.

The sack led to a Chargers punt and then a 12-play drive that ended with a New England missed kick for 45-yards out, keeping the lead at eleven. Quinn Nordin had also missed an extra point earlier in the game.

Judon would sack Herbert on the very next play, his second strip sack of the game that would be recovered by the Chargers but put them on 2nd and 30 and resulted in back-to-back three and outs by Los Angeles.

Jones then got it going, completing passes of 11, 12, 4 and 17 yards in a row before finding Braxton Berrios for an 11-yard gain to the get the ball on the one-yard line, hurrying up the offense and firing a strike to Devin Asiasi for the touchdown. Jones would find Jakobi Meyers for the two-point conversion to make it a three-point game.

Patriots rule out two keys players ahead of inter-divisional clash with Dolphins
New England Patriots safety Devin McCourty and offensive tackle Trent Brown won't take the field for the Patriots on Sunday when they take on the Miami Dolphins.

Brown and McCourty were listed as questionable on Thursday and the Patriots downgraded him to out on Friday afternoon. Brown was listed as a limited participant in practice all week because of a wrist injury while McCourty, also showing up on the injury report with a wrist injury, did not practice at all.

McCourty is second on the team in snaps played at 431, behind only Kyle Dugger and has played all of their defensive snaps. Replacing the veteran will be a tall task, both in terms of intangibles and leadership as well as on the field. New England uses their safeties a lot in Dugger, Adrian Phillips and Jalen Mills but McCourty is uniquely deployed as the team's free safety, often in deep coverage unlike the aforementioned others that play a bit more in the box or in 'Robber' coverage.

Brown is in the first year of his extension with the team, having not allowed a sack all season and having the second highest PFF grade (77.8) along the offensive line. Replacing him will likely be rookie offensive linemen Nick Ford who started two games this season at left tackle in place of the injured Isaiah Wynn and despite allowing two sacks, posted a 77.6 PFF grade in those two starts.

Watson, Dolphins D lead Miami to second straight victory at Foxborough against Patriots
The Miami Dolphins went out and got, with much criticism during the process, Deshaun Watson in hopes of having the best quarterback in their division for the first time in over three decades. Through two months of football, it had only yielded a third-place result in the AFC East.

Watson threw for 356 yards and converted a key 3rd and 11 with 1:52 left in the game to ice the Miami Dolphins 21-18 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday.

After trailing for much of the game, New England managed to cut it within three point after Mac Jones led a fifteen play drive, converted two third downs and a fourth down before scrambling it in himself from eight yards out with 3:44 left in the game.

Jones completed just 57 percent of his passes for 195 yards with a touchdown and interception apiece. Lead running back Damien Harris was held to just 2.7 yards per carry on his nineteen carries in what was a tough outing for the offense as a whole with sure handed receiver Jakobi Meyers finishing the game with three drops, some of which were on third down.

New England managed to sack Watson on the first play of the ensuing possession, resulting on 2nd and 16 before Watson completed pass of eleven yards on back to back plays to keep Jones and the surging Patriots offense on the bench. New England began using it's timeouts, holding Myles Gaskin to just two yards before tackling DeVante Parker behind the line of scrimmage to bring up third and eleven.

Watson found free agent acquisition Michael Gallup for the twelve yard gain, beating rookie Patriots cornerback Roger McCreary by just a split second on his break.
