Mac leads Pats comeback over Watson, Dolphins
New England had no answers for Deshaun Watson and the Miami Dolphins offense but more importantly, on the game's final two drives, neither did the Dolphins defense when it came to Mac Jones and the Patriots offense.

After being on the wrong end of a comeback effort last week, the Pats were able to come through and pull off the ten-point comeback win in the last nine minutes of the game to beat the Dolphins 24-23 behind Justin Tucker's game winning field goal.

Miami had extended their lead to nine after Jason Sanders' 34-yard field goa with 8:57 left in the game to make it 23-14. Jones responded with his best drive of the game, completing a 19-yard pass to Nick Boyle on 2nd and 12, following it up with a nine-yard completion to Kenny McIntosh and after back to back runs by Damien Harris got them into Dolphins territory, Jones completed back to back passes of sixteen and seventeen yards to Josh Johnson and Jonnu Smith respectively to find the endzone.

The Patriots defense, who surrendered nearly 800 passing yards in the first eight quarters of the season, was finally about to force a four-and-out as Miami punted for only the fourth time of the game.

With the ball on the New England 21-yard line with 2:59 left in the game, the drive started shaky with consecutive incompletions but then Jones rattled off completions of thirteen, five and fourteen yards aided by runs of five, twelve and seven yards between Damien Harris, Rhamondre Stevenson and Kenneth Walker III to get the ball to the Miami 3-yard line while draining the Dolphins timeouts.

Justin Tucker kicked in the 20-yard game winning field goal to secure his first one as a Patriot.

Despite latest injury, Patriots bullish on re-signing Barmore, Mac in coming weeks
The Jacksonville Jaguars re-signed quarterback Trevor Lawrence to a five year, $140 million extension to most likely set the floor for Mac Jones' upcoming extension with former second round pick and defensive tackle Christian Barmore likely behind him as well.

While New England's front office and coaching staff have been mum on the issue, along with Jones and Barmore, both Robert and Jonathan Kraft have been very vocal about their confidence in getting a done deal prior to the offseason.

"I have no doubt we'll get it figured out," said Robert Kraft back in training camp, "I'm very confident it will get done for [Jones and Barmore], they're the cornerstone of our franchise and we want to keep them here and they want to be here."

New England doesn't have to look no further than Barmore's running mate, Quinnen Williams, to find the template for his contract, Williams signed a three year, $47 million deal with New England two free agencies ago which will likely serve as the ceiling for Barmore's next contract.

Barmore's absence from practice this week hasn't been contract related but rather an injury one after he tore his labrum in the team's win over Miami this past Sunday which is expected to keep him out of action for a month. It'll be the first games that Barmore has ever missed in his career, one of the reasons he's in line for a mega extension after recording eighteen sacks in the last two seasons.

The injury will be a big opportunity for versatile defensive lineman Quincey Thompkins whose seen his role increase week by week since being promoted from the practice squad.
