Burrow off his mark in 48-17 loss to Jones, Patriots on Monday Night Football
As Joe Burrow pulled the ball out of the gut of Joe Mixon, New England Patriots linebacker Trez Marshall realized he had been fooled. With his back to Burrow as he tried to drop into coverage, he saw Cincinnati Bengals receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba's hands go up and Marshall did the same, making an acrobatic, over the shoulder interception to silence the Cincinnati crowd.

It would ignite 31 unanswered points by New England, including two incredible touchdowns from rookie tight end Dre Agnew in New England's 48-17 beating of the Bengals on Monday night.

It was a tough night for Burrow who completed just 51 percent of his passes and had a garbage time touchdown pass. Mac Jones was the more efficient of the two with a 121.6 passer rating while throwing for 319 yards and four touchdowns.

New England also got its running game going after Damien Harris got stuffed for much of the first half. In the second half, they went to Kenneth Walker III and Kenny McIntosh rho rushed for 81 and 87 yards respectively. Harris added a tough 35 yards on seventeen carries.

Patriots eek out a win over Cowboys behind Alexander pick six
New England Patriots cornerback Jaire Alexander had the unfortunate fate of giving up the game winning touchdown in the Super Bowl after struggling for most of the second half of the season.

With the game on the line, it would be Alexander's pick six that would give New England the momentum and just enough juice to outlast the Dallas Cowboys 31-21 on Sunday to remain undefeated.

Dallas pushed New England harder than any recent teams following blowout wins over the Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons. They took the early lead following an eleven play drive to open the game that included three third down conversions. New England quickly struck back with a 57-yard pass on the third play of the ensuing drive to Charleston Rambo. Mac Jones would find rookie tight end Dre Agnew in the endzone to tie it up three plays later.

Both offenses would cool off with the next touchdown coming in the middle of the second quarter following another long Dallas drive that took thirteen plays and four third down conversions.

After the Philip Howard touchdown, Jones would throw his second interception but Dallas was unable to capitalize, going three and out and allowing New England to score before the half thanks to a 15-yard run on 4th and 1 by backup quarterback George Abraham and Jones finding another tight end in the endzone, this time Darnell Washington.

Alexander's pick six would come on the second drive of the second half, giving New England the lead which was short lived. After forcing a stop on 3rd and 4, Dallas would pull out the tricks with a fake field goal attempt where Jeff Sims was able to break a tackle and get to the endzone to tie it up.

New England would go on to have perhaps their best drive of the game, converting three third downs on a fourteen play drive that ended with an Odell Beckham Jr. touchdown.

Neither team would score against until Harrison Butker's field goal iced it with 1:43 remaining the game after a Roger McCreary interception off an Amari Cooper dropped pass.

Clowney headed back to Houston along with Quarterman in trade with New England
The New England Patriots have traded edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney and linebacker Shaquille Quarterman to the Houston Texans in exchange for a third round pick.

The wheels began in motion when the Patriots hosted two veterans in linebackers Jaylon Smith and Ja'Whaun Bentley for workouts who were eventually signed following the finalization of the trade of Clowney to Houston, the team that originally drafted him.

A big free agent signing this past spring, Clowney played just 46 snaps in two games for New England with 45 of those snaps coming in the opener against Cleveland before missing the next three games with an injury.

Clowney played one snap against Dallas before leaving the game with another minor injury that wasn't severe enough for him to fail his physical. New England also felt confident moving forward with their young edge rushers in Keilan Britt, Micah Webb and George Marshall.

Quarterman also had a career year with New England last season with 53 tackles but fell in the depth chart behind Trez Marshall and Gio Whitfield along with George Marshall whose also taken snaps at inside linebacker. Both Quarterman and Clowney will be potential day one starters for Houston's defense.
