Despite making a trade for former Giants QB Daniel Jones yesterday the Titans still went forward with signing Tyrod Taylor, who they had been in contact with since before the draft.
Taylor was drafted by Baltimore in the sixth round of the 2011 draft and has spent time with the Bills, Browns, Chargers and Texans since then. He served as a mentor for Baker Mayfield and Justin Herbert before moving onto Houston in a starting role after the Deshaun Watson off field issues came to light. He was injured and played just six games for the Texans last year.
"We're glad to have him in the QB room." Mike Vrabel said after the signing. "Tyrod gives us a great veteran presence on the field and in the locker room, he gives us some flexibility at the position too."
Part of the agreement includes wording that if an opportunity opens up for Taylor to be a starter elsewhere the Titans would work with him and the other team to try to make that a reality.
Taylor is expected to compete with Jones to back up Tannehill.

CB | Zach Fells | UCLA | 6'1” 205 | Strong CB who excels when pressing, has trouble sticking with receivers in man. Could become a safety.
CB | Terrance Kirkpatrick | LSU | 5'9” 200 | Strong, raw athletic CB who needs time to develop.
S | Al Bassey | TCU | 5'10” 214 | College linebacker, good tackler, not strong in pass coverage.
K | Cameron Boone | UTEP | 5'11” 198 | Inconsistent until a solid senior season, decent power, spotty accuracy.
P | Sterling Hofrichter | Syracuse | 5'10” 196 | Big leg, has trouble placing ball. Spent time with Falcons and Buccaneers.

The Titans also traded CB Chris Jones to Rams for 2024 7th.
Tennessee has had a number of meetings with former Saint Taysom Hill. No agreement has been made at this time but there appears to be mutual interest. Hill would primarily be used at positions other than QB, which he appears to be on board with at this time.

The QB room is filling up with quality guys. Any worry about the locker room/team chemistry issues with Tyrod and Jones both being starters in the past few seasons?

Jones and Taylor know why they're here. If another team has a need for Taylor as a starter after injuries we've agreed to trade him.
Tannehill is 34 and if Jones can improve some he could be next man up if he doesn't mind sitting for a bit, we'll see.

No lack of playmakers, that's for sure. Looks like a fun roster on both sides of the ball. Gotta be up there with the SB faves
