Kaepernick to return to NFL after signing with Falcons

Colin Kaepernick hasn't played in the NFL since 2016 but there's a good chance he'll be the starting QB for the Falcons when the regular season rolls around.

Matt Ryan's somewhat unexpected retirement left the Falcons in limbo at the position with just Feleipe Franks on the roster. After signing Drew Lock a few days ago the Falcons announced earlier today that they had agreed to a deal with former 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick.

Kaepernick and Lock are expected to compete for the starting job which Kaepernick is expected to win easily.

"Kaepernick is a great fit in Atlanta from a publicity standpoint." One NFC executive said. "From a football standpoint that remains to be seen. He certainly looks like an improvement over what they had in the room a few hours ago."

Kaepernick had reportedly met with Atlanta, New Orleans and Houston after a workout last month.

I like the Patterson pickup. Would have loved Njoku too

Yeah I got pretty stoked when I saw Patterson there. I chased Njoku for a bit but the money was too much. We're limited on cap space and I wanted to do a bit more at some other positions.

Titans add Shaq Lawson on one year deal

Despite having Bud Dupree and Harold Landry locked up for a number of years the Titans pursued and ultimately signed Shaq Lawson earlier today.

Lawson spent the first four years of his career in Buffalo before moving south to Miami for a season. He was with the Jest last season after a preseason trade. Lawson totaled three sacks and 12 tackles for loss in 2021.

"It's an important position to have some depth at." Titans GM Jon Robinson said. "Shaq can spell those guys (Landry and Dupree) and it allows us to give some different looks too."

Lawson said he looks forward to being back with a contender and he is excited to work with Tennessee's coaching staff and players.

AB to join Deshaun Watson in Carolina

A few days after landing a new QB in Deshaun Watson the Panthers have secured the services of Antonio Brown for him to throw to.

Brown reportedly narrowed his choices to Atlanta, Carolina and Miami before deciding on Carolina this morning stating that he felt the Panthers have "championship talent".

With Watson and Brown in the mix along with Christian McCaffery the Panthers look like one of the top teams in the NFC. Whether or not Brown can focus on the game during his fifth stop in the league remains to be seen.

Titans replace Bullock with Koo

Earlier this offseason the Titans elected not to re-sign kicker Randy Bullock. Earlier today they signed his replacement in former Falcon Younghoe Koo.

Koo hit 25 of 29 field goals with a long of 52 yards in 2021. He hit 37 of 39 in 2020.
