#2 QB (#10 OVR) Jamal Fenton verbally commits to Louisville
Courier-Journal

Louisville, KY -- Louisville Head Coach Scott Satterfield has given Cardinal fans less and less to cheer about whether it be on the field or in the recruiting hunt. Prior to today, Louisville sat at the bottom of the ACC in quantity and quality of commitments for the upcoming season with 1 four-star recruit, 3 3-star recruits, and a two-star recruit. In the two seasons prior, Satterfield seemed to lack the recruiting ability needed to win recruiting battles with in-state rival Kentucky and other nearby schools.

That all changed when Satterfield bagged the program's highest rated recruit in Louisville's storied history.

QB Jamal Fenton will be migrating from Iowa to Louisville in the summer to begin coursework prior to his Freshman season at the University of Louisville. Fenton is the ranked tenth in the country overall, second among Quarterbacks, and first in Iowa. Fenton is smaller than most Quarterbacks at 6 feet flat, but makes up for it with an strength advantage when compared to his fellow recruits at the quarterback position with a 219lb frame. While he definitely is not the fastest guy on the field, Fenton has the ability to effectively scramble out of the pocket, sometimes in a flashy manner. If Fenton's throwing abilities showcased against weaker defenses and less pressure in Iowa carry over to step up in competition that is ACC defenses, he could already possess a pretty solid arm and tool-kit as a incoming Freshman.

Fenton took an official visit to Louisville when they hosted NC State in a loss. Despite the uninviting result, Fenton was swayed enough to trim his list to three, Louisville, Florida, and Texas. Fenton announced via Twitter that he would be attending the University of Louisville this morning. "They made me feel like I belonged there from the minute I touched down on campus." said Fenton, "I can't wait to be on the field in Louisville."

What is to come of current 2nd-string Quarterback T.J. Lewis, a freshman who showcased flashes of of speed at the quarterback position that may be unmatched at any level. At any rate, Fenton's commitment is a much-needed victory the Cardinals have sorely needed for some time now.

Wow, Fenton must have got hooked up with the basketball team on that recruiting trip for him to "love" his visit despite getting mauled

Excited for him to join the squad and see what he can do in his tenure.

I actually used 2023 UL QB commit Pierce Clarkson as a real-life stand-in for Jamal Fenton, who committed to Louisville in a similar fashion after visiting on one of the coldest and snowy weekends we've had in Louisville in years to see our basketball team get slapped around.

Gonna have another QB battle down the road from the looks of things. Just so happens that after it was clear we would be locking up Fenton I got a chance to play with Lewis, excellent athleticism, but Fenton will already be way ahead of Lewis when it comes to throwing power and accuracy.

--

I'm excited to get more generated players like Ryan Miller and Fenton involved though. As we get deeper into the dynasty and more and more generated players/caps are introduced I plan on slowing the update process down and providing a more detailed report; previews for teams, writeups for the game, and more storyline type of posts, more details into national recruiting storylines.

If anybody would like to create a CAP or even a second CAP for the upcoming recruiting season, go ahead and post one below and I will get you added (and do a better job at giving you guys good ratings this time) :troll:
Apollo Jackson will be recreated as a JUCO Freshman this upcoming recruiting season. I intend on providing week-to-week statistics on all of the CAPS next season.

I also plan on changing the rules up a little bit prior to this upcoming season. I'm thinking about changing the interception slider to try to bring the number down. I want to drop the quarter length in an attempt to bring the numbers down on tackles.l Want to slow the game down a little bit. Some other changes will likely be coming as they seem fit, but there will be a post announcing those changes when they come into effect.
