Patriots week one let's get it :kghah:

Schedule looks somewhat manageable in the 1st half of the season but goddamn the second half of the season :obama: this must be one of the toughest schedules in the league because of the AFC North opponents
evens out a little bit with playing the NFC South but goddamn, that last stretch is brutal, especially when you factor in the team is probably going to be injured by then

‣ NFL 2024 Regular Season, Week 1 - Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada
(0-0) New England Patriots at Las Vegas Raiders (0-0)

Matt Corral, Justin Field go toe to toe in opener with Mac Jones injured
Down 17-3 and with Mac Jones heading to the locker room with a lower body injured, the rout appeared to be fully on in the Raiders home opener against the New England Patriots.

Matt Corral and New England didn't go down quietly, making it a one possession game in the second half before Justin Fields' two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to secure the 41-20 win on Sunday.

In his first game as a Raider, Fields threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 64 yards and two touchdowns. It wasn't all rosy for the Raiders however who after an early start, struggled in the middle portion of the game including an interception from Fields that helped the Patriots cut into the lead. Fields responded well, however, with an impressive two minute drill that culminated with a touchdown pass to rookie Tory Horton for his first touchdown.

While Corral continued to find yardage in the second half, the Patriots failed to generate much scoring with just a field goal in the second half despite Corral throwing for a career high 346 yards.

New look Baltimore Ravens run all over defending champions Kansas City Chiefs
For a second straight offseason, the Baltimore Ravens bolstered their offensive weapons for quarterback Lamar Jackson, adding All Pro running back Josh Jacobs in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders at the beginning of the offseason.

Jacobs immediately provided some returns on that investment, rushing for 191 yards in the Ravens 38-28 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in the season opener.

Patrick Mahomes threw for 305 yards and two touchdowns but it wasn't enough as the Ravens rushed for 293 yards with Jackson rushing for 44 yards while J.K. Dobbins added an additional 40 yards. Jackson threw four touchdowns, completed 84 percent of his passes and averaged 8.2 yards per attempt.

Raiders promote DT Nesta Jade Silvera to active roster following Tyleik Williams injury
The Las Vegas Raiders have signed practice squad defensive tackle Nesta Jade Sivera to their active roster along with free agent defensive tackle Deadrin Senat. They subsequently demoted outside linebacker David Anenih and rookie linebacker Eric Gentry from the active roster to their practice squad to meet roster requirements.

The series of moves are a reaction to Tyleik Williams' injury in the opener against New England. The rookie defensive tackle had a promising NFL debut with three quarterback hurries and a tackle in his first 24 snaps before leaving the game with an abdomen injury.

It's not a complete tear and Williams is expected to be back within the next few weeks but with Tommy Togiai as the only defensive tackle on the roster, the Raiders bolster their depth and add some more size with Togiai being a little light to play nose tackle at 297 pounds.

‣ NFL 2024 Regular Season, Week 2 - Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina
(1-0) Las Vegas Raiders at Carolina Panthers(1-0)

Bryce Young, Panthers offense shutout in second half by improved Raiders defense
Through two weeks, Las Vegas' defense has surrendered just three points in the second half, shutting out Carolina's offense on their way to a 31-14 win over the Panthers on Sunday in their first road game of the season.

The Raiders defense finished near the bottom in nearly all defensive categories last season and while Bryce Young threw for 369 yards, it wasn't an efficient day for the former number one overall pick as he threw two interceptions, including a pick-six to linebacker Robert Spillane.

It wasn't much better for Justin Fields and the Raiders passing offense as the Raiders receivers dropped six passes from Fields who completed 63 percent of his passes and averaged just four yards per attempt with his longest completion going 18 yards.

The Raiders relied on their running game with converted receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. leading the way with 113 yards rushing followed by Damien Harris' 72 yards on the ground with 28 more yards coming from rookie Miyan Williams.

his accuracy is definitely hit or miss with these sliders but overall he fits the offense, just needs to hit more deep shots when they're there
