Sean McVay, Los Angeles Rams find themselves in early 0-2 hole
Just a few years removed from winning the Super Bowl, the Los Angeles Rams have failed to make the playoffs since, winning just five games in 2022 and six in 2023. Two games into the 2024 season, it's not looking much better for the Rams as they are ranked dead last in scoring offense and 31st in scoring defense.

After moving on from Matthew Stafford in the offseason, the Rams signed Sam Darnold in free agency, drafted K.J. Jefferson only to trade receiver Tutu Atwell to acquire Sam Howell from the Commanders to be their starter after Darnold threw two interceptions in the opener.

The Rams passed up on several quarterbacks in the draft, including Shedeur Sanders and Michael Penix Jr. Through two games, Penix Jr. is averaging 253.5 yards per game and completing 63 percent of his passes while Sanders has already thrown seven touchdowns and is completing 70 percent of his passes.

Raiders down two starters as Michael Mayer, Jonah Jackson appear on the injury report
The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to be without two of their starters on offense in tight end Michael Mayer and guard Jonah Jackson for at least one game with both being ruled out of this Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Mayer injured his finger at practice and appeared on the injury report with what is reported to be a broken finger while Jackson tore his labrum against Carolina last Sunday. Neither injury will require surgery which could expedite their return.

The Raiders have quality depth at both position with Dylan Parham, who started last season at left guard, replacing Jackson for the next couple of games while Brevin Jordan will elevate into the starting lineup.

While Jordan has only caught one pass this season, he showed flashes last season after being traded from the Houston Texans, catching 17 passes for 231 yards and a touchdown.

‣ NFL 2024 Regular Season, Week 3 - Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada
(1-1) Cleveland Browns at Las Vegas Raiders (2-0)

CLE | 7 | 10 | 0 | 22 | 39
LV | 0 | 24 | 7 | 7 | 38

Deshaun Watson completes comeback against Raiders with 22 points in the fourth quarter
In the first two games of the season, the Las Vegas Raiders defense allowed just three points in the second half against New England and Carolina. Cleveland had already fared better than the rest, scoring a touchdown in the fourth quarter, when Laviska Shenault Jr. erupted for a 79-yard touchdown run with 8:27 remaining to put the Raiders up two scores which surely would have secured the victory.

The Browns would score fifteen points in the last eight minutes of the game, including a rushing touchdown by Deshaun Watson with ten seconds left in the game and the Browns opting to go for the win with the two conversion and getting it to beat the Raiders 39-38 on Sunday.

After the Shenault long touchdown run, Cleveland's Nick Chubb ripped of runs of 26 and 15 yards on back to back plays to get the ball on the Raiders side of the field and then on third and six, David Njoku made an impressive catch near the back of the endzone to cut into the lead.

The Raiders offense had a chance to ice the game but on 3rd and 7, Justin Fields' pass fell incomplete, intended for Brevin Jordan. It was a banner day for Fields outside of a few misses as he went 26 of 42 for 325 yards and three touchdowns. Shenault Jr. was his top receiver with nine receptions for 112 yards and two receiving touchdowns while leading the team in rushing with 121 yards on the ground.

With renewed life, Watson and the Browns offense went back to work, converting a 4th and 1 on the Raiders 42-yard line to keep the drive alive and then a 26-yard completion to Cedric Tillman placed the ball on the Raiders five-yard line with 21 seconds remaining.

Watson would break contain from Kyle Van Noy and get to the edge of the defense, walking in untouched for the touchdown. Watson would find Njoku once more for the two-point conversion and the win.
