| Game Preview: Oregon and Georgia Clash in Atlanta

The Ducks are looking to make an early big splash with new coach Dan Lanning at the helm, and there is no better opportunity to do so than against his former team and the defending National Champions in the Chick-fil-a Kickoff Game.

Lanning knows how well former boss Kirby Smart gets the Georgia Bulldogs prepared for any game, and he has brought that same mindset and preparation to Eugene, saying that Oregon is ready to take the Bulldogs to the limit this Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Having faced Georgia's offense in practices while he was the defensive coordinator in Athens, Lanning has some insight and knowledge to lean on to prepare the Ducks for Stetson Bennett and the rest of Georgia's playmakers.

"We know a very tough challenge is ahead of us, and all we can do is put our foot on the ground and hit them with all we've got," said Lanning.

Georgia is led by Bennett, a 6th-year senior whose journey has captured the attention of the college football world. Alongside him are more than a handful of skill players capable of scoring at any moment. This includes versatile halfback Kenny McIntosh, who can run and catch the football as well as any player in the nation. Georgia also boasts a deep receiving corps, led by Ladd McConkey, AD Mitchell, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, and arguably the best tight end duo in the nation - Darnell Washington and Brock Bowers, who have proven to be a handful for any defensive back or linebacker.

Team captain and linebacker Noah Sewell will be busy commanding the defense against the Georgia offensive unit.

On the other side of the field, the Bulldogs are littered with NFL prospects at every position. Inside the trenches, Oregon's offensive line will have to deal with potential NFL top 10 pick Jalen Carter. Quarterback Bo Nix should also expect to face pressure from seniors Robert Beal Jr. and Nolan Smith, inside linebackers Jamon Dumas-Johnson and Smael Mondon Jr., and possibly touted freshman Mykel Williams. The Ducks' receivers line up against one of the best secondaries in the country, bolstered by Kelee Ringo, Javon Bullard, Kamari Lassiter, and Christopher Smith.

A win against the 3rd-ranked Bulldogs can certainly put Lanning and the Ducks in the spotlight as the 2022 season kicks off.
