Year 9 - Bowling Green Falcons - 7-6 - New Mexico Bowl

Image

Image

Notes:
- A wild 2nd half of the season. But it was the first time that a game had be locked in like that in a while.
- We did what we had to do against Miami OH, then that two game skid was rough.
- We couldn't move the ball or stop anybody. I was really worried that we wouldn't win another game with how bad we were playing.
- Finally, we found life, and scored a huge win over Northern Illinois(With a bunch of recruits watching)
- Then go on the road against a much better Ohio team and dominate.
- Finally ending the year with a 3 game win streak to finish with a 7-5 record.
- I like where we're at, we have a lot coming back. We also have around 3.5M in NIL money to load up on defensive talent, a RB, and a WR or two.

Year 10 Offseason - Western Kentucky Hilltoppers

Notes:
- Western Kentucky came calling, and decided that it would be the best move to move on.
- We inherited an..ok recruiting class. Better than what we were working with at Bowling Green

Interesting move to WKU. What made you opt against the other schools? Georgia Southern seems like a good gig to get into the Southeast recruiting grounds.

Honestly, they smoked me pretty good in the regular season and they have a lot coming back. Felt like it was a pretty good situation with the amount of talent they had.

Year 10 - Western Kentucky Hilltoppers - 5-1

Notes:
- Good start with the Hilltoppers, very senior laden team however.
- We struggled at Umass, who has a good team this year. We were trying to find out who we are at that point.
- Two close wins took us into Minnesota, much more balanced offense than years past. Still #1 in passing.
- The Minnesota win was a massive win. They had one of the toughest schedules in the Country but we put one on them.
- Defensively we are struggling, and we need to sure that up.
- No one has a winning record in our last 6, we can make a run here if we play well.

Year 10 - Western Kentucky Hilltoppers - 11-3 CUSA Runner Ups

Image

Image

Notes:
- Winning 11 games and feeling slightly disappointed.
- We roll until the Sam Houston State game, and we needed a miracle to pull that one out.
- Needed two fourth quarter touchdowns to pull it out against Kennesaw State
- Then the floor fell out against La Tech. We had 4 1st quarter turnovers and finished with 5 total. Just played awful.
- UMASS is just the better team. Our run defense is awful and they ran all over us. Wish we could've redeemed ourselves but it didn't happen.
- Then we pull off a massive upset over another P5 school. Making it 2 P5 wins for the year.
- We have an amazing class coming in. Good potential across the board.

Year 11 Offseason - Western Kentucky Hilltoppers

Notes:
- Kind of thought a school may come in with an offer, but no one offered better the WKU. So we're staying for another year.
- There were alot of HC changes this go around, 36 in total.
- I like our recruiting class, it was sweating bullets there for a minute for a QB but we got 2.
- We almost snagged the #1 QB in the country, who was in the portal from Notre Dame, but he ended up going to Utah State. We were a tad to far behind, and I had to put money on a sure thing.

Year 11 - Western Kentucky Hilltoppers - 4-2

Notes:
- Good start, but we should be 5-1 right now.
- Liberty scored 3 TD's over 70 yards. I had to step away for a while after that. Outgained them 680-375, and still lost.
- Feel better about the Defense except for the Liberty game.
- Offense is really clicking at the moment, even with our lack of talent at running back. We're putting points up on everyone.
- The UMass Win was massive, being a highly ranked team and team that has had our number. We needed that.
- We were predicted to finish #3 in the conference, FIU and Umass were ahead and we beat both. Smoked FIU. We have a big one with UCONN later in the season but I like where we are at.

Year 11- Western Kentucky Hilltoppers - 11-3 - CUSA Champions

Image

Image

Notes:
- Conference Champs in year two, and it was a good feeling after starting 1-2.
- Honestly thought we may be a year away from contending but we lost less talent than everyone else.
- We didn't make it easy on ourselves, while in most games we would start out very fast then just stall out. Allowed teams back in it.
- Sam Houston State game was the scary one. Down going into the fourth after blowing a 17 point lead. Luckily we made enough plays to win it.
- Another player of the year winner, first time at the FBS level. Really took over the last 6 weeks, our pass game was elite but our run game fell off, so we used him more in the run game.
- Rematch with Iowa State, we just went for it instead of cutting the game in half.
- Don't believe WKU is the place to sit and build, it was a stepping stone. We'll see if teams come calling, if not, I like our class and what we have coming back. About 6 Mil left in NIL to get some key players in as well.

- Playoffs looked fun, NC State winning the Natty as an #8 seed going on a run. Army making the playoffs, with Marshall as well.

Around the League:
Good Years: NC State 14-2, BYU 10-4, Army 11-3, Marshall 12-2
Bad Years: Florida 7-6, Texas A&M 6-7

Job Offers:

Image

Some really interesting choices here, and it's a really tough decision.

1. WVU - Started in WV, won a lot at West Liberty. It makes sense.
2. Texas Tech - We throw the ball around like crazy, rebirth of the Leach Offense in Lubbock.
3. Mississippi State - S E C, it's the best of the best. Do well there, you'll get any job you want.

Not sure what to do.
