League to seize operations of Washington Commanders effective immediately

In a move some fans have been clamoring from almost the start of the Dan Snyder era the NFL has seized control of the Washington Commanders. Following a long investigation and lengthy debate by the other 31 team owners Roger Goodell announced this morning that the league has bought out Snyder and taken control of the franchise formerly known as the Redskins.

"We're looking to expedite and ownership opportunity as well as using the opportunity to expand into a new market." Goodell explained.

Goodell went on to say that the league has already spoken with a few ownership groups as well as a few cities and that the process should be able to move forward "extremely quickly". The commissioner also explained that players under contract will have the option to stay with the team on their current contracts or to void the contract and become unrestricted free agents. If they chose to void their contracts the team will be compensated with draft picks.

League choses ownership group, will relocate to London for 2023 season

After a couple months of meetings and red tape the NFL has elected to sell the former Washington franchise to an ownership group based in London.

"Ultimately the London group had the best infrastructure in place. We've played there. The fan base is there. They have the experience in their management group. It wasn't an easy choice but we ultimately did what we felt was best for the future of the league."

So I'm already in the 2024 preseason and I don't have much in the way of notes for 2023 season so at this point we're going to jump directly to the 2024 offseason. Hopefully the lack of details leading up to that point isn't a turn off.

London NFL franchise to be named Monarchs

The NFL has announced that their new London franchise will be known as the Monarchs. They have released the team logo and have also stated that the franchise will be considered an expansion team and all ties to the Washington franchise they have replaced will be severed.

The London Monarchs will call Wembly Stadium home.
