Saints forced to shuffle OL before Rams game
Starting LG Andrus Peat suffered a dislocated hip in the win over the Giants. Originally veteran Max Garcia was expected to start in his place but line coach Doug Marrone indicated that Trevor Penning will instead get the nod with Garcia available if needed. Penning will likely be a target for Rams' star Aaron Donald who will be looking to get after Derek Carr as well as be disruptive in the run game. The Rams sacked Washinton QB Sam Howell five times last week.

Kamara, Jordan and Granderson all expected to play
Alvin Kamara and Cameron Jordan, who both took the majority of the win over the Giants off, and Carl Granderson, who suffered an injury in practice last Wednesday are all expected to play their usual roles this Thursday against the Rams.

Payton Turner activated
DE Payton Turner, who has not played since week one, has been activated from injured reserve and is expected to be in the defensive line rotation against the Rams.

Olave three yards from 1,000
WR Chris Olave, who caught six passes for 142 yards last Sunday against the Giants, is three yards away from eclipsing 1,000 yards on the season. Olave currently leads the team with 68 receptions for 997 yards and five touchdowns. In 2022 Olave caught 68 passes for 1,042 yards and four scores.

Saints clinch NFC South
With their win over the Rams and some help via a Colts win over the Falcons the Saints have clinched the division. The Saints last won the division in 2020, coinciding with their last playoff berth.

Thomas, Jordan both cleared after injuries against Rams
The long break after the Thursday night win over the Rams has been beneficial, allowing Michael Thomas and Cameron Jordan to fully recover from minor injuries they suffered in that game.

Olave tops 1,000 yards
Despite only catching one pass against the Rams Chris Olave has surpassed 1,000 yards again this season. Olave now sits at 1,048 yards and six touchdowns on 69 receptions. Olave has topped his yardage and touchdown numbers from last season and needs three more receptions to match his numbers from last season.

Trio of Saints' rushers nearing milestones
The Saints' backfield has played well this season and the trio of Alvin Kamara, Jamaal Williams and Taysom Hill are all approaching milestones. Kamara sits at 919 yards, needing 81 more to hit 1,000 on the season. Williams is nearing 500 with 446 thus far. For Hill it's not about the yards but the scores as he currently has eight on the ground and most certainly has his eyes on 10. Hill also has a pair of receiving touchdowns to his name.

Allen not intending to rest anyone this week
"I think it's more important to go into the playoffs with some consistency and momentum." Coack Allen replied when asked about resting starters against the Buccaneers this week. "We'll be mindful of snap counts obviously but ultimately we're still playing for seeding and trying to hold onto that third spot or maybe have an opportunity to move up. We'll reevaluate for week 18."

Saints move Sewell to Practice Squad, bring up Littleton
The Saints have signed LB Cory Littleton to the active roster while making room by moving LB Nephi Sewell to the practice squad. Sewell has appeared in 10 games, plating 129 snaps and recording 11 tackles. Littleton recorded 91 tackles for the Raiders in 17 games in 2021 and 44 for the Panthers in 2022, playing in 15 games. He played very sparingly for the Texans earlier this year.
