(PITTSBURGH, PA) For the first time since the start of the Steelers in 1933, the Rooney family is stepping away. Art Rooney II took over in 2002 and is now selling his share of the team to investment group Genesis II, led by former Steeler John Stallworth. Stallworth, along with Bruce V. Rauner and the Varischetti family have been minority owners with Rooney having majority share for the last six seasons. "This is the right time for the family, the team and the fans for a split." Rooney II announced in a statement. "John [Stallworth] has had success in his tech company and investment firm since retiring a Steeler legend, I have the upmost confidence John will lead his new group to success with the team."

Stallworth is part of a five family ownership group but will be seen as the face of the team going forward. Stallworth has already been involved in day to day decisions with the team and is scheduled to meet with Mike Tomlin at the end of the season to discuss the coaches future. "Mike is family, we will meet with him and talk about the future plans for the team. We want to hear Mike's input and make sure he is as invested going forward as we are as a group. I really hope Mike wants to stay on but I will understand if he feels now is a time for change as well." Stallworth said on X (formerly twitter).

The Steelers finish the season at Baltimore on Sunday. Already eliminated from the playoffs, Pittsburgh are playing to be spoilers and knock Baltimore out of the 1 seed in the AFC.

Pittsburgh (6-10) travel to Baltimore (13-3) in week 18 with nothing on the line but pride. Steelers won the first meeting back in week 5, 17-10 but since then have gone 3-9 including a 7 game losing streak before winning last week at Seattle. For Pittsburgh fans, this could be the last time Kenny Pickett is the starting quarterback and the last time receiver George Pickens suits up. Both players are rumored to be trade options in the off-season with the organization looking to draft a new quarterback and remove Pickens off the field issues.

For Baltimore, this game has a lot more meaning. Currently tied with Kansas City for the best record in the AFC but Kansas City holds the tie-breaker. Baltimore will need a win and hope Kansas City lose at Chargers this weekend. Possible MVP Lamar Jackson has thrown for 3,266 yards with 19 TDs and 5 INTs, rushing for another 6 TDs and 809 yards.

Going to be interesting what decision you decide to take the Steelers in. Got a little identity crisis going on over there in Pittsburgh.

That is what I was thinking too. Time to move on from the old Steelers way and change it up.

Unlikely hero leads Dallas to 6th Lombardi Trophy

(LAS VEGAS) The Dallas Cowboys beat the Kansas City Chiefs 24-19 on Sunday night to win their sixth Lombardi Trophy and first since 1995. The MVP was the hero nobody expected, quarterback Trey Lance. Lance was traded to the Cowboys at the start of the season from the 49ers and did not play a snap all season. In the second round of the playoffs, Dallas beat Philadelphia on the road and lost Dak Prescott with an injury.

Lance came in to finish the win and then led Dallas to a 14-13 win over Minnesota to advance to the Super Bowl. Kansas City had a more predictable route, beating the Bengals and then Baltimore after having a first round bye. The Chiefs went up 16-7 before Dallas took the lead in the second half. Lance led all passers with 238 yards and 2 touchdowns while rushing for another 66 yards on the game.
