CHARGERS STARS KEENAN ALLEN AND MELVIN GORDON
CHARGERS LOSE KEENAN ALLEN, MELVIN GORDON TO SIGNIFICANT INJURIES
If you asked who were the best players on the Chargers you'd almost surely hear the names Keenan Allen, Melvin Gordon and Joey Bosa. All three of them are now out of the Chargers lineup for the foreseeable future,
Bosa is down at least a month with a ruptured disk in his back.
Gordon was injured in the third quarter of the win over Denver. It has now been revealed that the injury is a shoulder tear and he will miss 4-6 weeks.
Allen, also injured in the win over Denver, has a ruptured disk as well and could be out for the rest of the season.
Gordon's injury is actually somewhat easier to digest as the team has Austin Ekeler behind him. Depth at the position is now an issue with rookie UDFA Justin Jackson and fullback Derek Watt the only other players at the position.
Allen joins Tyrell Williams on the injury report along with Artavis Scott. Travis Benjamin and Mike Williams are capable but behind them it's newcomers Kevin White, Amara Darboh and Travis Rudolph.
Williams may be available as soon as next week.
