The Hawks Nest - Kansas Football

Introduction
I've been chising for years. I've done a number of NCAA projects. I've done coaching careers bouncing around to different schools. I've done good teams in bad conferences. I've used Michigan. I've used Florida State. I've done a bunch in the Big 10. For this go round I wanted a bad team in a good conference. I narrowed it down to Kansas and BC pretty early on. Kansas is the definition of bad team in a good conference. They haven't had a good season since 2007. 2012 was especially terrible. So, here we go. The goal is multiple seasons and building Kansas into a Big 12 power. Let's see what we can do.
Settings
I'm rusty. I haven't played NCAA14 regularly in some time. Ditto for X360. I'm starting off on All American with default sliders. Every few games I will look over my results and stats and compare them to Kansas' real 2013 stats and see where tweaks are needed. I've played the first game on 7 minute quarters but I will almost surely bump that to 9 minutes.
Gameplay
I do what I want on the field. No restrictions. I will try to balance the offense between pass and run. In 2013 Kansas was run heavy but I'll be closer to 50/50 I'm sure. Once I get some of my recruits on the team I'll play to strengths. I do sim possessions from time to time based on how much time I have to play the game. I may add restrictions going forward. If so I will post them here.
Recruiting
Like on the field I largely do what I want in recruiting. I don't have any rules. I try not to over recruit. If I decide to add restrictions going forward I will note them here.
Pace
My goal is to play a game a week. Typically on Friday afternoons. If the opportunity arises I may play more. If life gets busy I may play less. It's very fluid.
Format
I have an El Gato so my plan is to have in game pictures. Game write ups will probably be somewhat brief but I still want a couple paragraphs describing what happened. Big news items will get articles. Smaller news will be presented via Tweets. The national updates will be every few weeks.
Rosters
I'm using the OSC rosters to start. All recruits will be auto generated.
Transfers/Redshirts Etc
Transfers will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
Redshirts will almost always be limited to true freshman.
Fun
I want to have fun with this. Because of that I may make changes to players, schedules, conferences etc.
Conferences and future schedules
I may mirror real life conference changes, I may not. Ditto for Kansas future schedule.
Comments, questions, suggestions
I love comments. I love questions. I love suggestions. Fire away!
