KYLE HICKS SCORES ON A 70 YARD RUN IN THE THIRD QUARTER
In what was supposed to be their biggest test of the season Louisiana walked all over previously unbeaten UCF by a score of 27-7. The Cajuns held the Knights to just 90 yards of total offense and harassed UCF QB Johnny McCrary all game, holding him to just nine yards on 3 of 8 passing and forcing an interception. UCF was 0-7 on third down and managed only 3 first downs.

UCF's only score came following a lost fumble by Louisiana backup QB Matt Hayden who appeared briefly in the second quarter when Haack was shaken up

Brooks Haack threw for 100 yards on 9 of 19 passing and added 71 yards rushing on 13 carries. Kyle Hicks led the way with 129 yards and two scores on 12 carries, including a 70 yard third quarter touchdown run. Donatello Franz III and Jalen Nixon each added 41 yards rushing. Nixon led the team with 30 receiving yards.

Darrien Batiste recorded a sack, Chad Polk had an interception and Simeon Thomas led the team with five tackles.

"Outstanding defensive effort." Head Coach Porter Davis said as Haack poured a cup of Gatorade over his head. "Complete game."

Louisiana will host Temple next week.

Cajuns Land Eight Commits Following Temple Win
By Bill Connelly

The Cajuns had several potential recruits in attendance as they took down Temple on Saturday. Over the past couple of days they received commitments from eight players, their first eight of the season.

The committed players are as follows:

Marques Austin
*** OLB #32
6'5" 233
Grambling, LA
Marques has above average strength and tackling ability and good athleticism. He reads and reacts well against the run and gets off blocks well.

Wilton Jack III
*** DT #31
6'1" 318
Monroe, LA
Wilton is a space eater in the middle as his size implies. He is adept at getting off blocks and has a quick burst.

Avery Novak
**** QB #4
6'3" 203
Crown Point, IN
Avery is a dual-threat QB with good running skills and a solid arm. He threw for 2,300 yards and ran for 1,100 as a junior at Crown Point High School and is on pace to surpass both numbers this season.

Willie Davids
*** OT #23
6'2" 318
Hammond, LA
Willie is a balanced OL who uses his strength and agility to make space in the running game and hold off pass rushers equally well. He may be moved inside to guard.

Braxton Bray
*** DT #81
6'4" 254
Moberly, MO
Braxton is a strong inside presence who can play tackle or 3-4 end. He wraps and tackles well and gets off run blocks efficiently.

Laurent DeJean
*** OLB #82
6'3" 196
Poydras, LA
Laurent is a strong tackler who reads and chases down plays and has a quick first step.

Sam Palmero
*** CB # 84
5'9" 172
Ponchatoula, LA
Sam is the younger brother of current Cajuns WR Seth Palmero. He is excellent in both man and zone coverage and covers ground well.

Derek Dawson
** C #64
6'2" 301
Marrero, LA
Derek Dawson is a powerful run blocker and pulls well. He is the younger brother of Cajuns LB Christian Dawson.

The Cajuns did miss out on three star MLB Noah Henderson who chose TCU and four star safety Davis Young who chose Oregon. Both players had Louisiana listed as their second choice.
