Trio of Power Five coaches latest to be dismissed

David Shaw compiled a 59-32 record in seven seasons at Stanford, starting hot with 11, 12 and 11 wins his first three seasons. After a downturn 2017's 3-9 season proved to be the end of the line.
It's a similar story for Penn State's Bill O'Brien. O'Brien took the Penn State job in 20111 and won 15 games in his first two seasons. Since then he's amassed a 23-27 record including a 5-7 season last year.
Jimbo Fisher is also jobless after a 3-9 season. After going 31-10 in his first three seasons Fisher is just 33-30 since.

Doeren, Tubberville and Fedora let go

Heads continue to roll in the college football coaching ranks as three more power five head coaches were let go today.
UNC's Larry Fedora, at the helm of the Tarheels since 2012 is out after a 3-9 season. He was 38-39 in his time in Chapel Hill.
Dave Doeren was let go by NC State after the Wolfpack finished 4-8 in 2017. Doeren was 31-32 in his four seasons there.
Tommy Tuberville got the boot after three seasons at Arkansas, finishing his tenure there with a 13-25 record.
We will continue to monitor things and will report any further significant firings and of course any hirings that take place.

Razorbacks hopeful Davis can get them out of the SEC basement

Former Louisiana head coach Porter Davis has landed a new job as the head coach at Arkansas.
Davis put together a 37-4 record in three season as the head coach for Louisiana before quitting a few days ago amidst controversy related to his relationship with former ULL student Maya Collins.
Davis won the coach of the year award twice and led Louisiana to three conference championships as well as appearances in the Rose Bowl and the Orange Bowl where his team played USC and Ohio State very closely the past two years.
"This is a great opportunity and one I'm looking forward to very, very much." Davis said when introduced. He was peppered with questions related to his departure from Louisiana and his relationship with Collins, who accompanied him at the press conference.
"We're here to talk about Arkansas football." Davis replied several times.
Arkansas is coming off a 2-10 season under Tommy Tuberville. Arkansas is 23-40 over the past five seasons and 5-19 in the past two.
