North Carolina center Ty Murray transferring to Miami
Adriana Edwards - Dynasty Sports Staff Writer

North Carolina freshman center Ty Murray has enrolled in spring classes at the University of Miami and is expected to sit out a season before joining the football team.

When Murray, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound offensive lineman from Carrollton (Ga.), initially committed to Louisville, Bobby Petrino was its head coach. A month later, Petrino was fired and eventually replaced by Scott Satterfield. An official visited to Louisville the weekend prior to the Early Signing Period ostensibly locked Murray into signing with the Cardinals. But, a UNC offer extended a couple of days later forced him to postpone his signing and eventually signing with the Tar Heels.

Murray will sit out this season.

Miami knocks out National Signing Day, land all six targets
Adriana Edwards - Dynasty Sports Staff Writer

Miami went into National Signing Day with six targets. Five-star running back Eddie Clark, five-star athletes Donald Washington and Eddie Clark, four-star linebackers Kevin Jones and Donovan Smith and four-star tight end Antonio Wilson.

They got all six.

The two Clark's got it going with their letters coming in first and then the snowball kept coming in. Miami ended the day with the second best recruiting class behind only Oklahoma and only Oklahoma had the same amount of five stars -- five -- as Miami.

Washington projects to be a defensive back at the next level while Clark will likely play receiver. Both players played quarterback at the high school level and were recruited as such by some schools. If Miami didn't have five-star Tyrone Williams and ran a different style of offense, they might be considered options at that position.

QB Tyrone Williams [QB #1]: 6'1", 189lbs | Centreville, VA | 5-star
HB Brett Sharp [HB #2]: 5'9", 187lbs | White Oak, OH | 5-star
HB Randy Battle [HB #3]: 6'0", 232lbs | Central Point, OR | 5-star
ATH Donald Washington [ATH #8]: 6'3", 212lbs | Westmont, CA | 5-star
ATH Eddie Clark [ATH #14]: 6'0", 221lbs | Lusk, WY | 5-star
OLB Kevin Jones [OLB #1]: 6'0", 215lbs | Harrah, OK | 4-star
DE Marcus Everett [DE #9]: 6'1", 223lbs | Manassas Park, VA | 4-star
LB Donovan Smith [LB #11]: 5'9", 227lbs | Campbell, OH | 4-star
TE Antonio Wilson [TE #13]: 6'2", 246lbs | Miami, FL | 4-star
DT Jordan Tyler [DT #19]: 6'2", 270lbs | New Britain, CT | 4-star
WR Jeff Nelson [WR #23]: 6'1", 178lbs | Colton, CA | 3-star
CB E.J. Bryant [CB #21]: 5'11", 180lbs | Miami, FL | 3-star
T Mark King [T #33]: 6'5", 269lbs | Miami, FL | 3-star
C Dan Cook [C #20]: 6'0", 270lbs | Miami, FL | 3-star
T Dennis Garrett [T #18]: 6'5", 315lbs | Black Forest, CO | 3-star
LB Matt Pittman [LB #52]: 6'1", 235lbs | Miami, FL | 3-star
DE C.J. Thomas [DE #87]: 6'2", 264lbs | Miami, FL | 3-star
WR Kasey Long [WR #78]: 6'4", 205lbs | Miami, FL | 3-star
G Nathan Humphrey [G #63]: 6'3", 302lbs | Miami, FL | 3-star
FB Martin Downs [FB #13]: 6'2", 237lbs | Miami, FL | 2-star
S Justin Jones [S #97]: 6'0", 218lbs | Carrollton, TX (juco) | 2-star

You gotta turn that fatigue off to not shut out the CPU. Or at least do a reset at halftime.

Also, Phillip Montgomery leaving Tulsa :kghah:

Good luck with your new OC. I know you are ready for a new playbook.

2020 Miami Hurricanes football preview: Can true freshman Tyrone Williams push for the backup quarterback role?
Adriana Edwards - Dynasty Sports Staff Writer

Few positions are as solidified as the quarterback position. Jarren Williams is the starter, N'Kosi Perry is the backup and Tyrone Williams is the quarterback in-waiting.

Right?

Miami is 'blown away' with the arm talent of Tyrone Williams, enough that talent wise, many already view him as being ahead of Perry. Miami will likely want to redshirt the true freshman as he isn't ready to challenge Jarren -- not yet at least -- but should Jarren go down, the feeling within the building is that Tyrone would play, not N'Kosi.

A look at Miami’s quarterback situation:

Projected depth chart
#15 Jarren Williams, R-Soph.
#5 N'Kosi Perry, RS-Jr.
#11 Tyrone Williams, Fr.

Expected starter: Jarren, clearly. It’ll be interesting to hear his take on what Prtichard’s plans for him and the offense, and see how he looks entering what should be a highly productive redshirt sophomore season.

Major storyline: Does this room change drastically in twelve months? Tavita Pritchard could be a one-year rental before he decides to go for a head coaching gig, ala Dan Enos. Consider this scenario. Jarren puts together an amazing redshirt sophomore season, leaves for the draft and Pritchard gets a head coaching gig. Miami is able to bring in a spread option minded offensive coordinator who sees Eddie Clark at receiver and Donald Washington at corner -- two guys that played quarterback in high school and recruited as such -- and wants to bring them back at quarterback to run his option-style offense. Not a crazy scenario.

2020 Miami Hurricanes football preview: How will Pritchard manage a talented running back room?
Adriana Edwards - Dynasty Sports Staff Writer

Miami's coaches have an embarrassment of riches at running back. Even Robert Burns, the lowest rated prospect out of the bunch, was once considered a prized recruit before injuries took a toll on him.

They have three-five stars and two-four stars in a room that talent wise, few in the country can match.

A look at Miami’s running back situation:

Projected depth chart
#23 Cam'Ron Harris, Jr.
#1 Lorenzo Lingard, Jr.
#2 Brett Sharp, Fr.
#21 Randy Battle, Fr.
#22 Robert Burns, R-Jr.
#25 Kirk Banks, Fr.

Expected starter: Harris on paper but he'll split carries with Lingard who should be fully healthy a full year removed from his injury during his freshman season.

Major storyline: How does Miami keep the three freshman -- Sharp, Battle and Banks -- happy? Sharp figures to get some special teams snap at return while Battle is also likely to be the team's goal-line back at six-feet, 232 pounds. They all signed knowing what the situation was but you have to wonder if come week six and Banks has zero carries -- like Robert Burns last season -- is he going to be okay with yet another season of this should Harris and Lingard come back for senior seasons?

2020 Miami Hurricanes football preview: Can elite talent turn into elite production at receiver?
Adriana Edwards - Dynasty Sports Staff Writer

Miami's receiving corp is as physically talented as they come but the knock on them has been their immaturity and inability to get on the field due to their limited playbook knowledge.

Many wondered if the group would be able to turn things around but so far, they haven't. Three-star recruit Kasey Long seemed to fit right in as he was kicked off the team before the spring even began due to breaking team rules. Jeremiah Payton, a redshirt freshman, has also left the program. Four-star recruit Jeff Nelson out of California is currently battling eligibility issues and likely won't be ready for the 2020 season, if he ever suits up for the Hurricanes.

With all that being said, a look at Miami’s wide receiver situation:

Projected depth chart
#6 Mark Pope, Jr.
#7 Brian Hightower, Jr.
#3 Mike Harley, Sr.
#18 Tate Martell, RS-Jr.
#8 Dee Wiggins, Jr.
#4 Eddie Clark, Fr.

Expected starters: Pope and Hightower -- along with Wiggins -- are the only two receivers over six-feet on the roster. Pope and Hightower figure to be the two outside receivers with Harley and Martell splitting reps in the slot. Harley is a four-year contributor and the only experienced veteran of the bunch.

Major storyline: Throughout the spring, no one turned heads more than true freshman Eddie Clark. The five-star high school quarterback has made a smooth transition to receiver and probably is the most capable of the bunch to make the toughest catches. Harley is probably the fastest player at the position, Martell probably is most agile and Wiggins has a big frame that you typically have seen in past Stanford receivers. Who does Pritchard go with as his 'third' guy when the lights are the brightest?
