Brady throws four touchdowns in beating of former pupil, hometown team
When San Francisco 49ers fans saw that their team had traded for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, they figured that by year 2020, they would have one of the best quarterbacks in the league and that team in New England would be getting ready for life after Tom Brady, perhaps regretting trading away Garoppolo.

Instead, San Francisco got to watch as 43-year old Brady threw four touchdown passes and saw their quarterback -- Garoppolo -- leave the game with an injury as San Francisco fell to 0-2 following the 31-6 loss to New England.

New England pounced on San Francisco, taking a 17-6 lead into halftime and then its defense did the rest, shutting out Garoppolo before doing the same to C.J. Beathard. Rookie defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos had his first career sack...and then his second and then his third. Fellow rookie Isaiah Simmons joined in on the fun with a sack as well and forced a fumble in the fourth quarter was recovered by Gross-Matos.

Rookie Henry Ruggs III also had a field day with six catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Undrafted rookie D'Eriq King continued the youth movement with 76 yards on the ground and 46 yards receiving in place of James White, who left the game with an apparent wrist injury.

Nice to see you continuing to gathering victories. This gravy ship slows for no man.

Defense carries Brady as Patriots score 15 points in fourth quarter to beat Jets
Despite a highly productive career at Vanderbilt, Ke'Shawn Vaughn found himself looking for work after the seven rounds of the NFL Draft. Vaughn wasn't a priority undrafted free agent and had to wait days until New England called him up and invited him to camp.

So when Tom Brady checks out of a passing play and puts the biggest play of the game in your hands, it sinks in.

"I was like 'really?' I couldn't believe it but next thing I knew, I had the ball in my hand and I had to score."

Vaughn stumbled his way into the endzone, scoring one of two New England touchdowns in the fourth quarter that gave New England a sloppy but earned 22-12 win over the New York Jets on Sunday.

Brady's two interceptions had helped the Jets take a 12-7 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The last Patriot drive ended with Brady overthrowing Julian Edelman and the ball being picked off by Jamal Adams, his second of the day.

It was a tough day for Brady who went 20 of 33 for 215 yards.

The next drive started off rough with a four yard loss on the play and a sack to bring the ball to the two-yard line on 3rd and 21. Brady dropped back, found Edeman for a gain of 26 and off they went. Brady completed passes of 10 and 11 yards to Edelman, an 8-yard pass to D'Eriq King, 11 yards to N'Keal Harry and added a 13-yard scramble on 2nd and 11 to get the ball on the 8-yard line.

New England seemed to score on 3rd and goal from the 5 but Harry was downed at the one-yard line. Vaughn punched it in on fourth down with Sony Michel on the sideline nursing a rib injury.

The Jets went four and out on the next drive with Patriots rookie defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos record his fourth sack of the night on fourth down.

Very nice analysis and an earned win for sure. Not a typically dominant Brady game but a win still counts.
