MONARCHS NEWS WIRE
MONARCHS SIGN OL KYLE LONG
The Monarchs and offensive linesman Kyle Long have agreed to a one year deal that is reportedly worth around 6.5 million if certain incentives are met. Long will have incentives for games played and starts in place. Long has primarily played RG and could replace Nico Siragusa as the starter there or could be asked to move around depending on the results of the draft. Long has said in the past that he does not want to play tackle. Regardless of where he lines up the veteran should be a welcome improvement to the line.

MONARCHS NEWS WIRE
VETERAN QB RIVERS CHOOSES LONDON
"It just seemed like a great fit." Rivers said after announcing that he had signed with the London Monarchs. "Mr. Crump is committed to winning. I get to be part of what they're trying to build over there and it's just a cool experience. Plus I get some time away from all these kids!" He added with a chuckle.
Rivers has played for the Chargers since 2004 and has played in 244 regular season games. The contract is for one year at 20 million. Signing Rivers gives the Monarchs some flexibility in the upcoming draft, which many say is the weakest QB draft in several years.
