Skins Can't Get out of Their Own Way In Week 1

To the question everyone is wondering, how did Haskins look? Well he looked like a rookie quarterback starting his first game against an excellent front seven with a mediocre offensive line in front of him. He was sacked four times and under constant pressure from the Eagles front seven. Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox tallied all of the Eagles sacks on the day. Haskins made some nice throws, he also made some bad ones. Such as a poorly thrown ball down the left side of the field that found the hands of Rodney McLeod Jr. For reference McLeod is a seventh year safety for the Eagles. If McLeod played for the Skins he likely would have dropped the ball since that illness is apparently going around in Washington. Haskins had to deal with constant drops from his receivers, including a perfectly placed touch pass in the endzone to Jordan Reed. Glad to have you back Jordan.
Elsewhere Derrius Guice found little room to run behind the Redskins offensive line, which is where he found himself a lot of the time. He was still able to muster 55 yards on 15 carries and one touchdown.
The Redskins defense looked better than the offense for what that's worth; let me tell ya, not a lot. While the defensive line looked solid, the secondary was lost for the majority of the game trying to find Philadelphia receivers. The inside linebacking crew made very few plays in the run game...Reuben Foster, save us. Rookie Montez Sweat was guilty of multiple roughing the passer penalties, he also had two sacks on the day so I suppose that balances it out in some weird way. It's clear Josh Norman probably needs to move to safety while DRC should have a date with the retirement committee soon.
The Redskine will look to right the ship as they head home to face the Cowboys next week.
