Redskins asking for second-round pick in Trent Williams trade talks, per report
Josh Edwards - CBS Sports

The Washington Redskins granted offensive tackle Trent Williams' request to pursue trade opportunities early this month. According to NFL Media's Mike Garafolo, Washington has been asking for a second round pick in exchange for the long-time veteran. Garafolo says that it is his understanding that "at that asking price, it is not going to get done."

Head coach Ron Rivera said at the NFL Scouting Combine that Williams is "still our guy" and has had good dialogue with the player.

Williams is expected to ask for a new contract from whichever teams acquires him. The 31-year-old is scheduled to earn $14.5 million in the final year of his contract. The lineman is reportedly seeking a deal that will pay $20 million annually. It sounds crazy until comparing it to the average annual salary that Giants left tackle Nate Solder ($15.5 million) is receiving to play average to below average football. Titans offensive tackle Jack Conklin is expected to command upwards of $16 million in free agency as well.

Dan Snyder ‘infatuated with’ Chase Young, per the latest rumors
Josh Edwards - CBS Sports

The rumors connecting Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to the Redskins always felt like a smokescreen. Or simple due diligence from a team picking second overall.

But now, it is becoming increasingly clear that Tagovailoa isn’t really in consideration with that selection.

According to Kalyn Kahler of Sports Illustrated, a source told her that Snyder wouldn’t want the team to take Tagovailoa and that he loves Chase Young.

“I don’t think [Washington owner] Dan [Snyder] would want that,” says a source familiar with the organization’s thinking. “He wants to give Haskins the opportunity and I think Dan is infatuated with [Ohio State defensive end] Chase Young.”

Despite Snyder's pending legal battles, he remains an 'active part' of the Redskins front office.

Snyder situation 'dominated conversations' during NFL Owners Meeting
Sebastian Barnes - Dynasty Sports Staff Writer

According to several sources, the talk of the town during last week's NFL Owners Meeting was the ongoing situation with Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder.

Snyder was indicted several weeks ago on charges of tax fraud and tax evasion in what promises to be a lengthy court battle. Despite these chargers, Snyder's position and activity within the Redskins organization hadn't changed.

While the topic never made it to an official agenda and was never formally addressed by any of the attendees, sources say that it "dominated conversations" outside of the meetings with camps forming as some owners are pushing for Roger Goodell to strip the team away from Snyder while others are hesitant to set such a precedent.

Redskins' Williams traded to the 49ers
Sebastian Barnes - Dynasty Sports Staff Writer

The Washington Redskins have traded left tackle Trent Williams to the San Francisco for the 31st pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Redskins' asking price had previously been a second round pick but with Joe Staley's sudden retirement, San Francisco found themselves in need of a left tackle in order to make another attempt at the Super Bowl.

Several ownership groups expressing interest in Redskins
Sean Ellington -- Dynasty Sports Insider

The Washington Redskins are not for sale. That is the constant and loud communication from Dan Snyder and his camp as rumors began to circulate last week that several groups, one backed by rap mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs, have started to offer up bids to Snyder.

Snyder's recent legal troubles which include a pending tax evasion allegation have left him 'broke' according to a source, many pointing to the Redskins lack of free agency moves during the offseason.

Jay-Z has also been linked to having interest in purchasing the team but according to a source close to Snyder, "he'd rather go to jail" than to sell the team. The source said that Snyder's history with the team also suggests that any owner that does take over the team will have to commit to staying in Washington and keeping the name of the team which has been an issue of constant controversy.

Redskins fans get first flash of Young but ultimately lose to Steelers in opener
Sean Ellington -- Dynasty Sports Insider

After a tumultuous offseason, the Washington Redskins and their fans got their first glimpses of number two overall pick Chase Young and almost, just almost, saw their team win. The Redskins blew their fourth quarter lead as Benny Snell broke two tackles en route to the endzone for the 26-22 victory.

Young played just one drive, starting at defensive end in the 'Skins new look 4-3 defense, recording a tackle for loss.

Cardale Jones played most of the game, showing flashes but throwing a few errant throws as well. Jones also seemed to struggle with the game operations aspect, often being late to get the snap off or having to look to the sidelines a few times for checks. He finished 26 of 36 for 347 yards and two touchdowns with one of his two interceptions coming on the final play.

Dwayne Haskins' day was short and uneventful, going 5 of 9 for 68 yards.

A winner on offense was certainly receiver Trey Quinn. Quinn caught the go-ahead touchdown with 39 seconds left in the game and had 110 yards on seven catches.
