Bulls defense blanket Michigan State offense in second half to complete comeback win
When it rained, it was pouring on true freshman quarterback Jeff Jones who after a controversial no-call on a potential pass interference led to an interception and then a touchdown by Michigan State, would throw two more interceptions on his next two drives.

The freshman centered himself, found his rhythm and would go on to throw four second half touchdown passes while the Spartans offense was held to just three second half points in the Bulls 38-27 win on Saturday night.

Jones' first interception came on a play where the Michigan State defender appeared to fight through USF receiver Max McDonald as they both got to the ball. On the ensuing drive, Michigan State would score on a 20-yard touchdown pass to make it 24-10 with 0:49 left in the game. Jones would throw another interception to end the half and his third to start the second half, allowing Michigan State to extend their lead to seventeen.

Things started to turn around on the next few possessions with the Bulls scoring on back to back drives while Michigan State missed a field goal and would be stopped on fourth down on back to back drives.

Jones' seven-yard touchdown pass to Buck Duckett gave USF its first lead since the first quarter and after another stop by the Bulls defense, Jones' would find Bryan Mangum for the second time of the night, this time on a sixteen yard touchdown pass on third down to essentially seal the victory.

Carlton Bradford would intercept a pass at the goal-line to put it completely away.

South Florida continues second half dominance as they walk off with a 38-21 victory over Auburn
Two failed fourth down attempts with goal to go allowed the Auburn Tigers to keep pace with the No. 4 ranked USF Bulls in the first half, taking a seven point lead with 1:21 left in the first half.

Jeff Jones and the Bulls offense were able to quickly go down the field and score, making it a tie game as unranked Auburn was testing USF. The Tigers would not reach the red zone for the rest of the game and USF's offense would account for 613 yards in their 38-21 victory over the Auburn Tigers on Saturday.

Jones threw 64 passes, completing 43 of them for 539 yards and five touchdowns. Both defenses improved in the second half with the Bulls punting three times in the third and fourth quarter after not punting at all in the first half.

USF's defense was able to keep the Auburn Tigers at bay, however, by forcing three second half turnovers, all interceptions off Tom Gilmore.
