#7 USF (4-0, 3-0) | 0 | 14 | 0 | 14 || 28
UF (0-4, 0-4) | 7 | 0 | 3 | 6 || 16
-----------------------------------------------

USF walks off with a 28-16 victory over Florida
A dropped pass near the goal-line kept USF from scoring in the first quarter and resulted in an interception which led to Florida's 96-yard drive that ended with a touchdown to give them the surprising 7-0 lead at the end of the quarter.

USF would outscore USF 28-3 for the rest of the game prior to the final minute as the Bulls beat the Gators 28-16 on Saturday night in Gainesville.

USF's Jeff Jones was held to just 238 yards passing, his lowest total of his career in a game where he finished the entire game. He still threw for four touchdowns and USF's offense nearly put up 400 yards of total offense in what was their most competitive outing of the season while the Florida Gators remained winless.

Penalties kept the score close as a touchdown and a long run by Bobby Jackson were called back. Jackson finished with 66 yards rushing.

It was a tough introduction of the USF defense to true freshman quarterback Kyle Clemens. The former five-star quarterback was sacked five times and stopped in the backfield countless other times on designed runs.

Clemens entered the game as UF's leading rusher and was held to negative rushing yards with his longest run being four yards. USF head coach Malcolm Francois Sr. and players were complimentary of Clemens and his toughness.

"[Florida] has got a good one [in Clemens]," said Francois Sr. after the game, "No matter what we threw at him, he kept bouncing back, he's going to be a problem down the road."

USF football program accused of 'a widespread network of hidden sexual recordings'
Grace Griffin -- VICE Sports

In a blog posted on The Tab, a news site focused on campus-based stories, an anonymous female college student under the pseudonym Lady Shazam shared her college experience at a Florida university which included an incident where a sexual encounter was recorded without her consent and her journey to getting the perpetrator to admit the footage existed and then deleted.

VICE Sports has since confirmed via multiple independent sources as well as the female college student herself (who has chosen to remain anonymous) that the university in question was the University of South Florida and that the alleged perpetrator was former USF running back Donte Massey.

In the 2028 post, Lady Shazam described a situation in the fall of 2027 where she was made aware by a mutual friend of hers and Massey, who she considered a close friend at the time, that a recording existed of a sexual encounter she had had with Massey. The mutual friend claimed to have seen the footage and expressed concern that several others like it existed. She initially approached Massey who denied the existence of the recording and then contacted the Residence Assistant of the dorm who told her that nothing could be done since there was no proof of this.

She was soon approached by another football player, who has since been confirmed to VICE Sports by multiple sources as being former USF tight end J.J. Francois, who told her that the recording had been deleted and she didn't need to worry about anything. In her post, she wrote that given that she was a senior and close to graduating, she didn't want to "deal with the headache" of writing a formal report that she felt wouldn't go anywhere. She chose to write the post in the summer of 2028 following her graduation.

VICE Sports reporting revealed that the Resident Assistant had reported the incident to USF's coaching staff 'relatively soon after she told him' and that USF head coach Malcolm Francois Sr, the father of J.J. Francois, was 'directly made aware' of the situation by a USF staff member. According to a source with direct knowledge of the situation, Francois Sr. had ordered for the recordings to be deleted and warned players during a team meeting that same fall of 2027 of the consequences of such actions.

Not long after Lady Shazam's blog post was posted in the summer of 2028, a formal meeting took place which involved Francois Sr., USF athletic director Michael Kelly and several other high-ranking members of the USF athletic department. A source that was present at the meeting told VICE Sports that Kelly informed Francois Sr. that he had been approached by multiple female student athletes and coaches regarding their concern of a 'widespread network' within the football team where players would share hidden recording of sexual encounters with other female students, some of which were female student athletes.

At the same meeting, Francois Sr. told Kelly that he had been made aware of 'an occurrence of that nature' the year prior and that he had chosen to deal with it internally and destroyed the recordings. When pressed about it by another official of the athletic department, Francois Sr. pushed back that due to it being consensual sexual encounters, he didn't see the need to report it to his superiors. Other attendees of the meetings also questioned how Francois Sr. could be sure that the recordings had been destroyed. Francois Sr. informed them that Massey was no longer on the team as he had been kicked off the team for an unrelated reason and therefore it was no longer a problem in his eyes.

While some within the athletic department viewed Francois Sr.'s actions and inaction as negligent, others viewed it as intentionally obstructive due to Massey being roommates with his son, J.J., freshman receiver Corey Montgomery and quarterback Antonio Whitehead. All three would be key members of USF's football team and it's success.

"The rumor at the time was a lot of the dorms and rooms of the football players had hidden cameras," said a female student athlete that was among those that contacted Kelly directly, "I never saw the tapes but I've met a lot of people that have seen it, like a lot. It wasn't really a secret, you know, people talk. Like certain rooms, certain guys, you'd tell your homegirl like 'if you're going to hook up with him, fine but don't do it at this crib because they'll be recording' so if [the university] wanted to find out about it, they easily could have."

A female student that had seen at least one of the recordings says that they were readily available 'if you know who to ask' and that they would commonly be shared with other students both within the football program and outside of it, including visiting high school football recruits. The same student describes an instance where she was near a recruit on an official visit where he was being shown a 'sexual video' by a USF football player which she said appeared to be recorded from a hidden camera. The female student then contacted the woman in the video, who she recognized, who was a student athlete.

A formal investigation was never launched as any approaches by Kelly or others within the athletic department on the subject were quickly downplayed by Francois Sr. who at one point accused Kelly of being too eager 'to want to see those tapes' in front of several other members of the athletic department during a conference call. The student athletes that had reported this to Kelly were contacted by the athletic department and told that the 'culpable party' had already been expelled from school and therefore no other actions could come from the university and any further action would require them contacting the authorities to file a criminal charge. Nothing else was done.

Lady Shazam and others told VICE Sports that they felt emboldened to tell their side of the story publicly for the first time following the recent reports of a problematic environment at USF and around their football program.

"It gets deep," said once female student who suspects that she was secretly and illegally recorded while at USF, "[Football players] certainly walk around like they run the university and at some point, you believe them so why would we think they were going to do anything about it? Colleges are notoriously bad at handling these kind of things so we never thought anything would get done about it. It does seem like, lately, people are speaking up about their experiences and at least for me, I want to make sure that this sort of thing doesn't happen anymore to anyone. It's a sickening feeling walking around campus, wondering if someone's seen you at your most intimate state and you have no idea, you had no idea."

The university, athletic director Michael Kelly and USF head coach Malcolm Francois Sr. have refused VICE Sports' request for a comment on the report. Massey denies the allegations in this report and The Tab's blog post from 2028.

USF AD Kelly steps down as Francois Sr. steps away from team, to meet with university's brass
Johnny Murray -- The Tampa Bay Times Sports Columnist

University of South Florida athletic director Michael Kelly has officially stepped down from his position, the school announced on Tuesday.

Kelly and the school's athletic department, specifically the football program, had been under scrutiny over the past year with several reports alleging numerous improprieties such as loose administration of pain medication, a toxic culture around the football program and most recently, allegations that the department did not properly investigate multiple reports of illegal recordings of sexual acts.

The head coach of the football team, Malcolm Francois Sr.'s press availability on Tuesday was cancelled. Anthony Washington of The Tampa Bay Chronicles has reported that Francois Sr. has 'momentarily stepped away from the football team' and that he was not present at any staff meetings since Sunday, when VICE Sports article on the hidden recordings was released. Washington also reported that Francois Sr. has met with at least one high-ranking university official and is expected to meet with the school president by the week's end along with other school officials.

The Tampa Bay Times has since confirmed The Tampa Chronicles initial report that a decision regarding Francois Sr.'s future at USF is 'imminent'.

Francois Sr losing his partner in crime in the AD is a crazy unique detail you threw in there. You're killing it lately.
