South Florida Walks Off With a 42-13 Victory Over UCLA Bruins
Malcolm Francois had had his fair share of talented backs come through the USF campus in Temple Terrace. Troy Henry might be the best of the bunch and the record books will reflect that.

Henry rushed for a school record 281 yards and six touchdowns in the team's 42-13 win over UCLA on a rainy Saturday evening in Tampa.

UCLA jumped out to an early 10-0 lead following a Michael Pittman interception. Henry proceeded to then score three unanswered touchdowns before UCLA would get on the board including a 73-yard touchdown run to answer UCLA's first touchdown.

Pittman bounced back from the early interception to finish the game strong with 199 yards passing and 68 percent completion. He spent the entire game behind center and did not split snaps.

USF true freshman Gerald Mitchell added 68 yards on the ground.

Pensacola 4-star WR Peterson commits to Bulls along with 3-star LB Miller out of Naples
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports USF Insider

USF has done a really good job recruiting in the state of Florida and with it's recent dipping into the Bible Belt state, it was able to land a player on the edge of the state.

Four-star WR Shane Peterson out of Pensacola committed to the Bulls over the weekend along with three-star LB Dan Miller out of nearby Naples, Florida. Peterson and Miller brings the class total to seven for the Bulls with Peterson bring the second highest rated recruit in the class right now behind Tennessee athlete Jake Lott.

Described as a professional receiver by his high school coaches, Peterson fits the mold of what a slot receiver has looked like in the Bulls offense for the past few seasons. He doesn't have the elite top end speed as Andrew Vincent or even Mike Holmes but his route running is among the best in the state. There will be a learning curve as well as just overall competition at the position which could limit his usage in his first few seasons but this is a good take for the Bulls.

Miller is a traditional thumper that could either stay put at inside linebacker or maybe become an edge player if the Bulls remain in a 3-4 scheme. He lacks the athleticism to be a true sideline to sideline Mike linebacker but athletic enough to not be liability.

The two commitments give the Bulls some good momentum heading into Homecoming Weekend and a big recruiting weekend. Starting on Thursday for some of the more local guys, USF will host 5-star OLB Travis Hughes, 4-star QB Nick Williams, 4-star ATH Troy Bell, 5-star RB Derrick Green, 3-star punter Marcus McClelland, 4-star WR David Ryan, 4-star G Bobby Davis, 3-star G Victor Carpenter, 3-star DT Marcus McCauley, 4-star LB Dallas Gross, 4-star CB Corey Johnson and 3-star ATH Ryne Fox.

These sort of big recruiting weekends have become a staple of the Malcolm Francois regime and have proven to be fruitful. USF is confident that they might be able to land a commitment from most of the attendees including Hughes and Green.

The Bulls did lose out on punter Darryl Adams who committed to Tulsa.

Iowa State Cyclones Are No Match for South Florida Bulls
Throughout the course of a season, there's going to be some bumps in the road. Being down 21-10 to a one-win Iowa State team with 3:25 left in the first half was certainly that for the South Florida Bulls on their Homecoming game.

Like great teams do, they responded.

The Bulls maligned defense in the first half held the Cyclones to just three points in the second half as they pulled away with the 45-31 win.

The comeback was jump started by a punt return of 45 yards from head coach Malcolm Francois' son, Malcolm Jr, who helped set up the 33-yard jump ball touchdown to Joel Bass with 4 seconds left in the half.

After holding Iowa State to just a field goal in the third quarter, USF's offense went back to Troy Henry, who scored six touchdowns last week. Henry scored the last three touchdowns of the game, including the game clincher on third down, taking a screen pass 66-yards through traffic.
