Bulls walk off with a 38-21 victory over Florida Gators
Nothing could go right for the USF Bulls as they found themselves in a 21-0 hole. When the game was being decided, however, everything did.

The Bulls were finally able to keep Florida quarterback Kyle Clemens contained, sacking him on fourth down with less than three minutes left in the game with the Gators in scoring position. Two plays later, Dionte McCarthy broke open on a 63-yard touchdown run on the jet sweep as USF rallied back to beat the Gators 38-21 on Saturday afternoon in The Swamp.

Florida had gotten out to an early lead after some errant throws from USF QB Joey Spence and a scoop six by their defense on a Bobby Jackson fumble. Spence eventually started to find his rhythm thanks a to 35-yard completion to Jason McDowell that set up McCarthy's first touchdown of the day.

Spence would find Derek Young on a 50-yard bomb before the half to make it a one possession game and after USF's defense forced yet another stop coming out of halftime, Spence went up top once more, this time to Maurice Bennett for the 25-yard touchdown to tie the game.

Just like that, Florida's lead was gone and it wouldn't return.

USF TE Chris Wallace expected to make return against Alabama
Johnny Murray -- The Tampa Bay Times Sports Columnist

University of South Florida junior tight end Chris Wallace practiced with the team on Tuesday but according to head coach Malcolm Francois Sr, the team captain won't be making his return until after the bye week against Alabama.

"We're looking at Alabama for [Wallace]," said Francois Sr. during his media availability on Wednesday, "He's still working through stuff so he probably won't be out there this weekend."

Wallace quietly missed USF's game against LSU where he wasn't needed in the 42-7 blowout. Wallace injury hadn't been disclosed to the media until prior to the game when he was ruled out with a back injury. Wallace then missed USF's trip to Gainesville where USF could have used his services early on as the offense struggled to find its footing. With the Georgia Bulldogs coming into town, it looks like USF will once again be without the All-American tight end.

In the two games without him, true freshman Antoine Frank has gotten the start. The local native out of Bloomingdale has caught eleven passes for 104 yards and it's led to an increased role for Obadiah Denman, another true freshman tight end whose struggled with drops. On just four targets, Denman leads the team with three drops, catching just one pass for 7 yards.

In their two tight end sets against Florida, the Bulls opted to play redshirt freshman Jason White instead who caught two passes for nine yards against the Gators.

Bulls slap the Dawgs around 49-7 in revenge victory over Georgia
USF junior running back Bobby Jackson's sophomore season ended against the Georgia Bulldogs last season when he tore his ACL and in a lot of ways, USF's season also ended that night in an upset loss to the Bulldogs.

With the Bulldogs now making the trip down to Tampa, Jackson and Company ensured a repeat wasn't in tow. Jackson rushed for 156 yards and scored three touchdowns in the second quarter alone to handily take care of the Bulldogs 49-7.

Georgia tried to make it competitive with a stop coming out of the half and Wes Thibodeaux's 15-yard touchdown made it 28-7. Joey Spence was intercepted on the next possession to give Georgia the ball and a chance to make it a two possession game.

After yet another stop by USF's defense, Spence was able to overcome his second interception of the day with his second touchdown of the game, this time to true freshman Maurice Bennett. On the ensuing possession, Kenny Fowler intercepted Terence Triplett for the second time, returning it 48 yards for a touchdown.

The Bulls defense bottled up Karl Hill, taking away any option plays where Hill was supposed to get the ball. He rushed for 138 yards last season against USF but had just nine carries on Saturday night for 55 yards. Instead USF forced the slow-footed Triplett to keep it on option plays, averaging just 1.2 yards per carry.
