As Bulls get off to fast start on the field, Francois and Co. try to land a recruiting class to match
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports USF Insider

The USF Bulls are off to a 2-0 start to the season with two wins over Power Five opponents Wisconsin and NC State with the latter even being ranked in the top fifteen.

On the recruiting tail, the Bulls hope that the on-field success will allow them to build off a decent 2014 class. Here are a few key notes heading into the 2015 recruiting cycle:

-- Can the Bulls land a four-star QB? USF is actively recruiting three quarterbacks in four-star QBs Nathan Sykes and Steven McKenzie as well as three-star QB Mario Greer. Sykes is a local product out of nearby Clearwater but with schools with like Miami and Clemson making him a priority, it's tough to see the Bulls landing him.

McKenzie is also an uphill battle but perhaps a winnable one. Virginia Tech and East Carolina are the current leaders for the New Jersey product but USF remains a possible landing spot.

-- Four-star TE Buck Burns is the only four-star that is currently committed to USF. With head coach Malcolm Francois trying to instill a culture of not allowing commits to take visits, it's interesting to see if this works with a sought after talent like Burns.

-- Can USF land Miami product four-star CB Brett Johnson? Johnson is the type of recruit that coaches build recruiting classes off of. USF's secondary has plenty of depth and young talent but adding someone like Johnson along with three-star Simmons should give USF even more talent at the position as well as a major win in the recruiting category.

-- USF will need to beat out UCF for not one but two receivers in Jeff Bell and Lamont Dickson, both UCF commits. USF currently doesn't have a backup option besides trying to flip these two receivers and if they fail, USF might find themselves scrambling after missing out on Tyrese Gibbons last cycle.

-- The Bulls haven't zero'd in on anyone yet at linebacker -- both inside and outside -- and that position has only became more important in Marty English's 3-4 defense which deploys four linebackers.
