Nation's top corner Kenny Fowler commits to Bulls over Bama and Texas
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports USF Insider

Cherry Hill cornerback Kenny Fowler has committed to the South Florida Bulls, picking USF over scholarship offers from Alabama and Texas among others.

Fowler is the nation's top ranked prospect at corner and the number one prospect in the state of New Jersey, a state that USF hasn't dipped into much. Fowler, once he signs his LOI, will be the first Bulls signee from the state since the 2029 class when they signed four-star tight end Chance Fisher.

Fowler does continue the trend of USF signing top corners with it being now six straight classes that USF has signed at least one top five corner and the third straight class they've signed a top two corner in their respective class.

Similar to the other elite corners before him, Fowler is an A-plus athlete with exceptional coverage skill and high-football IQ for his age. He is a bit undersized at 166 pounds but that hasn't stopped other corners before him such as Richie Cowan (169 pounds) from being early contributors. If Cowan, a junior, does go pro, Fowler could be a potential day-one starter along with Joe Jackson and Jeremy Daniels.

When 247 Sports spoke with Fowler, he was excited about the opportunity to potentially start as a true freshman and said he was confident that his head coach once he gets there will be Malcolm Francois Sr. but did reiterate that his primary recruiter has been defensive backs coach George Barlow as well as DC Bob Shoop.

"I have a great relationship with those guys," said Fowler, "I love all the coaches but I'm committing to the school as well."

Fowler is USF's fourth top 50 commitment this cycle and more could be on the way as a mega recruiting weekend is on the way. When USF hosts LSU in two weeks, in attendance potentially could be five-star running back Derek Young, five-star receiver Jacob Green, five-star defensive back Mark Robinson, five-star offensive tackle Adam Clemons, five-star offensive guard Chris Booker, four-star defensive end Travis Peters, four-star defensive tackle Michael Williams, four-star offensive guard Ed McKinney, four-star receiver Dionte McCarthy, four-star linebacker Brian Robinson, four-star kicker Mike Pleasant and three-star punter Stanley Durbin.

Clemons, Peters, McCarthy and Robinson have confirmed to 247Sports that they will be on campus that weekend on an official visit.

Bulls scores from all angles as undefeated Bulls rout Mississippi State 66-14
As a winless team, the newly crowned top ranked team in college football coming into town isn't what the doctor ordered.

USF proved just that, routing the Mississippi State Bulldogs 66-14 on Saturday night to remain undefeated in their first game as the AP's newest top team.

USF true freshman running back opened the game with a punt return for a touchdown, the first of four first half touchdowns. Jeff Jones would throw two of those while backup quarterback Jared Barr would convert on a fake field goal before the half to take all the life out of the stadium.

The Bulls ended the fourth quarter with four straight touchdowns, including a pick-six and a rushing touchdown by Terrance Small, giving USF's a defensive touchdown, special teams touchdown, passing touchdown and rushing touchdown.

Bulls land another commitment in back to back weeks as recruiting heats up
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports USF Insider

Three-star punter Stanley Durbin out of the Orlando area has committed to the USF Bulls over hometown UCF, FIU and Florida along with three-star linebacker Nicholas Holt.

Durbin is a six-foot, 220 punter that has a big leg and USF started targeting after his high school sophomore season. With no scholarship punters on the rosters, Durbin should be the team's starting punter next season.

Top247 outside linebacker Willie Farris released a new top two with Michigan State and Middle Tennessee State, leaving USF and Oregon out of it. Early in the cycle, USF was viewed as the favorite before off the field rumors, reports and scandals surrounding head coach Malcolm Francois Sr's future at USF led to Farris reconsidering things.

USF was going to try to get him on campus this weekend but with his newly released top two, USF quickly pivoted to another Orlando prospect in Holt who committed on the spot as soon as USF offered him.

"It was an easy decision," said Holt, whose on pace to finish the season with over a hundred tackles for the Panthers, "I always wanted to play for the Bulls so once they pulled the trigger, I spoke to my parents that same night and committed a few hours later."

A late bloomer, Holt was being recruited by Tulsa, Louisville, Marshall as well as UCF but none had offered him yet as he was only a co-starter as a junior last year for Dr. Phillips and missed the bulk of his sophomore season with a shoulder injury after turning heads as a true freshman.

At six-foot-four and 238 pounds, Holt has all of the physical tools to be an effective player at the next level. He primarily played safety as a true freshman and was in the midst of making the transition to Will linebacker as a sophomore before surgery on an injured shoulder cut his season short. A coaching staff change saw Holt play more as an edge rusher the past two seasons although at the next level, most scouts view him as an off-ball player.

Jones breaks school record in USF's beatdown of Auburn
USF has been home to some really good to great quarterbacks over the year but none of them have passed for more touchdowns than Jeff Jones.

Jones, just a sophomore, broke the school's record for career passing touchdowns with his 78th of his career and the second of the day to Robert Givens, breaking Jed White's record in midst of USF's 69-20 blowout win over the Auburn Tigers.

Jones would throw four more touchdowns to finish the day with six as he threw for 505 passing yards, reminiscent to his record breaking freshman season where the offense ran almost exclusively through his arm. USF still averaged 9.15 yards per carry on the ground while the defense wasn't too shabby either, forcing a pick six among their three forced turnovers.
