Phoenix -- Kyler Murray may have just played the best game of his career as he had to twice mount a fourth quarter comeback against the Washington Redskins. In the battle of the 2019 first round quarterbacks, the former Oklahoma Sooner came up huge.

With under a minute remaining in the game, Murray had to throw off the back of his feet. He heaved it around 45 yards downfield with DeAndre Hopkins hurling in the one handed catch in double coverage. You couldn’t write these things. It just happened.

Magic I haven’t seen in State Farm Stadium since the Arizona Cardinals embarked on their improbable 2008 Cinderella Super Bowl run, which was upended by a special play from Ben Roethlisberger.

What we saw over the weekend was one of the NFL’s up-and-coming quarterbacks put the rest of the league on notice. Murray has shown he has what it takes to do something special in the league and he showed the Cardinals he has the ability to do it. Slowly, his height isn’t becoming such a question in a league where smaller frame quarterbacks have excelled at their position. Drew Brees and Russell Wilson to name a few.

Murray is on pace to throw for 3,392 yards and 48 touchdowns this season. He’s on pace to average 39 attempted passes and 249.5 yards per game. These are considerable improvements over the 33.8 attempted passes and 232 passing yards per game from last season. Not to mention the 28 additional touchdowns thrown.

Kyler must be hype to have someone he can just throw it up to. Solid win over the Redskins!
