Game: Madden 08 PC
Rosters: 2020-21
Draft Classes: Real
Difficulty: All-Pro
Sliders: cldrk’s Classic Sliders w/edits
Quarter Length: 10 Minutes
Misc: Calhoupe’s Scripts for Realistic Rules
Misc: NZA Editor for Realistic Playcalling

House Rules
• Human Salary CAP will start at $90M for the 1st season and add +$3M each season after that (starting in the 1st offseason, where it increases to $93M). This is because CPU teams need the excessive cap space since their GM'ing skills are lacking.
• Any player being re-signed who is 80 OVR and better must be signed to their demanded contract, both years and money.
• I will skip Training Camp drills to avoid messing around with player ratings.
• On defense, I don’t switch control of defenders after the snap. I choose who I want to control (normally a safety), and don’t switch off him during the play which means it’s up to the CPU controlled players on my team to make the tackle. This helps create more balance on defense and adds importance to playcalling.

Steelers heading in new direction, Colbert steps down as GM, Mike Perry hired
Neal Coolong | June 21, 2020 6:25 pm ET

The Pittsburgh Steelers are having a changing of the guard at general manager. Current general manager and Vice President Kevin Colbert is stepping down from the role in 2020 and Mike Perry, newcomer to the organization, is stepping in. However, what that actually means for Colbert and his VP duties has been somewhat of a mystery.

Colbert gave a little more detail in regards to the changes.

The news came as some surprise on Friday as there had been no direct indication Colbert was going to step down. In previous statements, Colbert had been adamant he was still focused on player personnel management and not thinking about relieving those responsibilities. While Colbert isn’t leaving the team, his role will change to a more behind-the-scenes one.

Pittsburgh has missed the playoffs the last two seasons and went just 8-8 last season, their worst finish since 2013.

“This franchise is as prestigious as they come and I’m ready for the challenge,” says the newly appointed GM Mike Perry.

“Kevin has done a phenomenal job the last couple of decades, and I know I have his support in continuing in his footsteps.”

Perry’s background is in analytics and worked under Pro Football Focus and ESPN, as well as other media companies as a consultant in helping put together scouting reports and player rankings. He steps in to his first job working with a professional team in a similar manner to GM Daryl Morey of the NBA’s Houston Rockets.

With an aging quarterback, it will be interesting to see where Perry can take this team over the next couple of seasons. The biggest question for Perry is if he will strive to contend with what he’s got or start fresh with a rebuild.

always an interesting team to chise with since they never really rebuild but they don't really splurge on free agents, planning to stick to that formula?
