Tried to do this with the newest roster but it kept freezing so I just did real rosters starting week 5.

BREAKING NEWS: Houston Texans Sign Kaepernick
WHOA.
By Tim | Jun 5, 2020, 4:07pm CDT

Since missing nine games as a rookie in 2017 Deshaun Watson has been relatively healthy, starting 16 games in 2018 and 15 in 2019 as well as all three of the team's playoff games in that time.

A.J. McCarron was the primary backup last season and was expected to play the part again in 2020, however, it was announced earlier today that the Texans and Colin Kaepernick have agreed to a two year deal.

Cal McNair made the announcement. "This is a great move from a football standpoint and in other ways too." He explained. "We feel like we've got a team that can compete and go deep into the playoffs, Colin coming aboard gives us security at the quarterback position and means we can still compete at a high level in the unfortunate instance that we have an injury at the position.

Kaepernick last played for the 49ers in 2016 and has become a well known activist over the past several years. He has thrown for over 12,000 yards and 82 touchdowns during his career.

Texans make roster moves ahead of season opener
McCarron headlines list of cuts

The Houston Texans have parted ways with QB A.J. McCarron, meaning that Deshaun Watson and Colin Kaepernick are the only two QBs left on the roster. Sort of. The team also announced a number of other cuts and signings following the cut down deadline.

After cuts were finalized the Texans pounced on a pair of players.

Runningback Derrius Guice, who ran for 245 yards and a pair of touchdowns was cut loose by Washington Football team. Houston brought him in, presumably to back up David Johnson and Duke Johnson and play a role as a short yardage back.

Taysom Hill, a versatile player who has contributed as a quarterback, runningback, receiver and special teams player for the Saints was cut loose to make room for depth at other positions and was quickly scooped up by the Texans. It will be fun to see what role he will play on the team.

The following players were released:
QB A.J. McCarron
RB Dontrell Hilliard (PS)
RB Buddy Howell
RB Scottie Phillips
WR Steven Mitchell (PS)
TE Pharaoh Brown
TE Jon Weeks
OG Hjalte Froholdt (PS)
OT Charlie Heck (PS)
OT Brent Qvale
DE Andrew Brown (PS)
LB Kyle Emanuel
LB Nate Hall (PS)
LB Peter Kalambayi
CB Mark Fields (PS)
PS = signed to practice squad
