Miami holds off late Boston College rally behind turnovers, Lingard
Manny Diaz challenged his team this week to not take Boston College lightly en-lieu of their highly anticipated rivalry game against Florida State next week.
Miami did just that, jumping out to a 35-10 lead in the third quarter. But when Boston College rallied to make it 35-32 with 4:54 left in the game, Diaz found himself challenging his team once more and they rose to the occasion.
Lorenzo Lingard ripped off a 43-yard run and when the defense intercepted Anthony Brown for the third time in the red-zone, he ripped off another long run -- this time for 80 yards -- as Miami kept on their winning ways on Saturday with the 49-32 victory.
Miami's late surge was due to their running game while Jarren Williams helped set the tone with four first half touchdowns. He finished the game 23 of 27 for 267 yards and five touchdowns.
Cam'Ron Harris also rushed for 109 yards while Brevin Jordan found the endzone twice along with freshman running back Brett Sharp.
