Espanyol Make Major Splash, Sign Adama Traore from Wolves for €18M
![Image](https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/upload/c_fill,w_912,h_516,f_auto,q_auto,g_auto/shape/cover/sport/wolverhampton-wanderers-v-espanyol-barcelona-uefa-europa-league-round-of-32-first-leg-5e57f19412eb9a673b000001.jpg)
Espanyol have spent big to solve their problem on the right wing, purchasing the electric Adama Traore from Wolverhampton Wanderers for €18 million. Traore will become the second highest earner at the club behind top scorer, Wu Lei, earning €35,000 per week, but it should be well deserved. He is a former Barcelona player and product of the La Masia academy, which only adds fuel to the fire, and his pace and ability to deliver crosses should be an excellent fit for Rui Faria's 4-4-2 system. With Melendo on the opposite flank, Espanyol look to have their wings sorted for years two come with these two young, exciting players.

Feyenoord Trigger Pipa's Release Clause in January Transfer
![Image](https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/624/cpsprodpb/772C/production/_114280503_pipa.jpg)
Espanyol's Pipa will leave the club this January, after Feyenoord paid his €3,450,000 release clause. With Adama Traore coming in on the right wing, there wasn't much room for Pipa to play anyway, as Embarba, the former starter, will now take up the backup role on the right flank.

Traore is a really good signing and perfect in a 4-4-2. It will be interesting to see how he does in LaLiga with the more open play style of the teams. Hopefully you receive a good draw in the next round of the cup.

Thanks bro, yeah he's definitely an old school winger so should fit like a glove in my system.

32-year-old Espanyol central midfielder, Victor Sanchez, has been sold to Southampton of the English Premier League for a €6,000,000 fee. To cover for his departure, Espanyol have recalled the 22-year-old Alex Lopez from his loan spell at CD Lugo.

David Lopez Departs Espanyol for €12M
![Image](https://e0.365dm.com/14/04/768x432/David-Lopez-Espanyol-2014_3114755.jpg?20140405104440)
30-year-old center back, David Lopez, has left Espanyol for Villareal CF for a fee of €12,000,000. The experienced defender wasn't fully happy with his role as a backup center-back, and moved to Villareal for what will hopefully be more playing time. With him gone, Espanyol have recalled another loanee, as Lluis Lopez returns from his spell at CD Tenerife to fill in as a backup center-half.
