Sweetwater offensive lineman Stephen Brown commits to the USF Bulls
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports USF Insider

Three-star offensive guard Stephen Brown has committed to the South Florida Bulls over offers from Florida State and Miami.

Brown, who is listed at six-foot-four and 321 pounds, had primarily played defensive line at Braddock High School but has played both ways since his junior season, showing some flashes of potential on the offensive line. The Bulls like Brown at both tackle and guard and his limited athleticism might have him end up at tackle as the team prefers their guards to be decent athletes capable of being pulling guards.

If Brown ends up being the only signee of the class on the offensive line, the Bulls better hope that they did not swing and miss on his evaluation.

USF now sits with three commitments but more could be on the way after this weekend. Five-star athlete Andrew Rivers, who the Bulls like at receiver, will be on campus for an official visit along with fellow five-star linebacker Marcus Rhoden in what is a star-studded weekend of visits. Cornerbacks Marcus Hodges and Sam Harris will be in attendance as well as four-star defensive end Greg White, four-star receivers Lamar Mitchell and Jimmy Ingram, four-star safety Paul Williams, four-star defensive tackle Rodney Williams, three-star tight end Jean-Jacques Francois, three-star linebacker Reggie Harper and three-star running back Dion Rogers.

the season just started lmao

the injuries have been though but looing at the schedule, we can go on a sneaky run and if we can finish that stretch of #2 unc, #3 notre dame, #6 michigan with a 2-1 split, the season is a success imo.

USF Bulls Walks Off With a 45-20 Victory Over Virginia Tech
With the South Florida Bulls defense surrendering two long drives that totaled 27 plays and ten points, USF head coach Malcolm Francois challenged linebacker Travis Hughes to help turn the ship around.

Hughes' pick six would help shift the momentum to the Bulls side with the defense keeping Virginia Tech out of the endzone for nearly the rest of the game en route to a 45-20 victory for USF.

Hughes had twelve tackles and a sack along with his interception and even got a chance to get in on the fun offense, lining up at tight end for a few plays and catching a goal-line touchdown pass.

Nick Williams continued his impressive string of performances, overcoming an early first half interception to throw four touchdowns, including two to Jason Barbour.

Five-star WR Andrew Rivas among Bulls commitment during busy weekend
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports USF Insider

Even with rainy weather for most of the weekend, USF was able to make a killing on their first big recruiting weekend of the visit, landing commitments from four recruits, including five-star athlete Andrew Rivas.

The other three commitments came from four-star defensive end Greg White, four-star cornerback Marcus Hodge and three-star cornerback Sam Harris with White being the first to commit on Friday night followed by Hodge and Harris on Saturday morning with Rivas verbally committing to the coaching staff on Saturday night before making the announcement public on Monday.

Rivas is the eight ranked athlete in this cycle and while other schools have toyed around with where he'll line up on the field at the next level, USF's coaching staff has remained consistent that Rivas will be a receiver. At six-foot-six, he'll be the tallest receiver the Bulls have on their roster next season. His skills as a receiver could use refining over the next few seasons but the raw tools are there for Rivas to be a dynamic player as a down the field threat.

While Rivas is the sixth ranked player out of the state of Texas, White is not too far behind at #10 and the third ranked defensive end in the nation. The coaching staff is extremely high on White and some within the program have viewed him as the most talented player on their board, even ahead of Rivas. White has an NFL-ready body with the athleticism to match. There aren't a lot of weaknesses in his game as he's both effective as a pass rusher and against the run. The only concern is the jump in the level of competition.

The Bulls got two corners in Marcus Hodge and Sam Harris that are on the different side of the coin. Hodge is the prototypical corner in the Malcolm Francois Sr. era that is a elite athlete with verified 4.38 speed that is effective in both bump-and-run coverage as well as zone. Harris on the other hand is a bit more sturdy at 197 pounds and a switch to safety is likely as he lacks of the top end speed that the Bulls typically like at corner and his fluidity in coverage is not the greatest.

USF did get some bad news over the weekend however with four-star linebacker Ben Keller releasing a top three without the Bulls, going with Iowa, Minnesota and Virginia Tech. Minnesota has had a good run as of late in the state, landing three commitments from the state.

Bye Week Report: The State of Bulls
Cooper Byrd -- Dynasty Sports Staff Writer

USF stumbled out of the gates with a few closer games than some would hope before eventually dropping two games to Miami and Alabama, both on the road.

The Bulls have survived the first half of their season and find themselves 4-2 and after a road trip to Florida and a homestand against Navy, they end the season with perhaps the toughest schedule in all of college football.

Best player through weeks 1-7:
They're all tied to each other so the award is split between QB Nick Williams and receivers Jason Barbour and Darius Downs. Barbour and Downs have almost identical numbers with around 30 catches and more than 400 yards with four touchdowns apiece. Williams is third in the country in passing yards and has at times had to carry the entire offense due to both injuries in the backfield and inconsistent offensive line play.

Worst player through weeks 1-7:
Cornerback Sid Robinson had a rough day against Alabama and throughout the season, getting beat deep a few times. The transition to boundary corner has been a tough one after playing nickel his first two seasons at USF. True freshman Pierre Francois got some snaps at boundary corner and wasn't really tested but has shown flashes when he's gotten reps at nickel, including an interception against Miami. If Robinson's struggles continue, Francois' rise up the depth charts could continue.

Most Impressive game so far:
W 45-20 vs. #25 Virginia Tech

We'll see just how good Virginia Tech ends up being but they were a team with national championship expectations and in the second half, USF seemed like the far and away better team. The loss against Alabama is probably a close second because even with a loss, USF hung tough on the road with a first-year starting quarterback and almost got the job done.

Least Impressive game so far:
W 31-12 vs. NC State

N.C. State isn't a good team this season and while the Bulls covered, they looked sloppy doing so. Miami and Alabama figure to be good teams this season, perhaps even great teams especially for Alabama, so no shame in losing to them on the road.

Other notes:
Running back David Fuller is expected to be on the field when the Bulls take on Florida next week with the bye week giving the star running back some time to get healthy. Tight end Vincent Everett status is still up in the air as he's missed every game this season except the opener with a broken wrist but he's making progress and has begun practicing with the team in non-contact drills.

IMG pipeline keeps on giving as four-star safety Paul Williams commits to the Bulls
Eddie Fernandez -- 247 Sports USF Insider

Four-star safety Paul Williams out of the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida and three-star linebacker Reggie Harper have committed to the South Florida Bulls.

Williams, originally out of Eustis, Florida, has drawn a lot of comparisons from Bulls fans during his recruitment process to former Bulls safety Sam Peterson. Williams is shorter and a bit thicker but their testing numbers are similar with Peterson having a slightly faster 40-time at 4.44 compared to Williams' 4.48. Both players played at IMG Academy to finish out their high school careers and quite frankly, both being white defensive backs have also fueled the comparison.

While some schools have flirted with the idea of Williams moving down to linebacker, the Bulls like him at safety, particularly Rover due to his ability to be stout against the run.

A player that might change positions is Harper who is already nearing 250 pounds and lacks the level of athleticism the Bulls typically have from their inside linebacker. He's exclusively played off-ball in high school but edge might be a better fit from an athletic profile standpoint although at five-foot-eleven, the length that most edge rushers possess just isn't there. Harper is sure to be an interesting prospect and a piece that might be moved around a bit before finding his home.
