Behind the Numbers: Is it time to buy stock into Josh Johnson or just a shooting star?
New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones had tried to connect deep a few times with receiver Tutu Atwell, arguably the team's fastest player, before Atwell went down with an injury that caused him to miss a month of games.
Replacing him was Josh Johnson who in two games caught eight passes for 103 yards and two touchdowns. In those two games, Johnson played 71 snaps compared to Atwell's 69 snaps in the six previous games.
With Atwell off the injury report, will Johnson's production and involvement continue?
New England is trying to get faster on the perimeter with the drafting of Charleston Rambo last year and the signing of Parris Campbell whose played 100 more snaps than Jakobi Meyers', New England's leading receiver for the past two seasons who isn't exactly a burner.
With this in mind, Atwell's return might not impact Johnson's production and snaps but rather Meyers' if the emphasis on speed continues.

Turnovers do in Raiders as Patriots amend home woes with 30-14 victory over Las Vegas
It's not often a team puts up 403 yards of total offense, 21 first downs, a 57 percent third down conversion rate, win the time of possession battle along with three visits to the redzone and only score fourteen points.
Two of Las Vegas' red zone trips ended with a fumble as they turned the ball over four times in the game as New England was able to cruise to a 30-14 victory in the second half.
Derek Carr threw for 422 yards on 53 pass attempts with two touchdowns but it was all for naught as Josh Jacobs was held to 2.9 yards per carry and was one of the ball carriers that fumbled in the red zone. Carr also had two fumbles of his own.
It was a career day for tight end Cade Otton who caught nine passes for 98 yards, including a touchdown. Otton replaced Darren Waller who left the game in the first half with an injury and didn't return.
While Las Vegas aired it out, New England kept a balanced approach with Mac Jones attempting 29 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns. The Patriots had three different rushers rush for over 35 yards with Damien Harris leading the way with 66 yards and a score followed by Rhamondre Stevenson's 48 yards on the ground while rookie Kenny McIntosh added another 38.
Defensively, it was Dont'a Hightower who forced both redzone turnovers while DeAngelo Malone and Kyle Dugger forced fumbles of their own as well.

Jaguars slow down Patriots offense but fall to 1-10 following another loss
Mac Jones' interception with 8:26 left in the game paved the way for Jacksonville to tie it up with a little over six minutes left in the game. It would be another turnover, this time by Jaguars punt returner Chris Smith, that would turn the game over on it's head.
Trez Marshall's forced fumble with 2:31 left in the game would be the deciding factor, gifting New England the ball on the Jacksonville 33-yard line as the Patriots would run eight consecutive run plays to run out the clock and into the endzone as they secured the 27-20 victory over the Jaguars.
New England was down two of their starting offensive linemen as center Robert Hainsey and left tackle Isaiah Wynn both left the game with injuries and did not return. Damien Harris averaged just 3.2 yards per carry and Rhamondre Stevenson wasn't much better at 3.9 yards per carry.
The Jaguars defense also did a good job of throwing different looks at Jones, who completed just 50 percent of his passes and 5.3 yards per attempt.
Offensively, Trevor Lawrence was able to push the ball down the field between Eric Ebron and Davante Adams, who averaged 16.8 and 19.6 yards per reception respectively. In the second half, however, New England's running game picked up and were able to keep Jacksonville and their offense off the field using ball control.
