Matthew Judon heads to IR as his disappointing season comes to a close
The New England Patriots have placed edge rushers Matthew Judon and DeAngelo Malone on injured reserve and signed free agents Aaron Lynch and Leon Jacobs.

Both Judon and Malone suffered their injuries in last week's comeback victory against the New Orleans Saints with Judon tearing his labrum and Malone fracturing a bone in his foot.

Judon, 31, is set to make $15 million next season after making $16.5 million this season. After having three straight double digit sack seasons, Judon has registered just one sack this year in twelve games. He missed five games last season as well.

Malone was in the middle of a breakout season after sparingly playing as a rookie. He finished the season with 37 tackles, six tackles for loss and five sacks with a Pro Football Focus grade of 69.0.

Jones and Allen light up the scoreboard in 10th highest scoring game in NFL history
Up 7-3 and entering Buffalo's side of the field, New England picked up a first down on third and one only to have the play call back due to a penalty away from the play on Patriots receiver Kendrick Bourne. On the next play, Mac Jones would be pressured, causing him to throw an interception that was returned to the New England one-yard line where Buffalo would promptly score to take the 10-7 lead.

What initial looked like a turning point in favor of Buffalo would turn out to be the battery in the back for Jones who would go on to throw for 439 yards and three touchdowns to outduel Josh Allen in New England's 59-38 win over Buffalo on Sunday afternoon to clinch the AFC East.

Allen finished the day with 467 yards and four touchdowns but a special team turnover that led to a touchdown and New England outgaining Buffalo 212 to 39 on the ground would prove to be the deciding factor.

With the score 38-31 entering the fourth quarter, New England started to pull away with a 60-yard bomb to Josh Johnson to open the fourth quarter and extend their lead to fourteen. After a Buffalo three-and-out, New England's rushing attack then led a thirteen play drive that included two conversions on third and 8 where Jones found running backs Kenny McIntosh and James White out of the backfield for 21-yards on both plays. The drive ended with a Rhamondre Stevenson three-yard touchdown,

Stevenson rushed for 113 yards to eclipse 1,000 yards on the season.
