House Rules/Bug Fixes
► No Switching On Defense
Whichever player I control before the snap is the player I will stay with through the end of the play without any switching. Usually I like to roam as one of the safeties, but on occasion I will use a LB or DL.
► No User Catching
After I throw the ball to a receiver, I always let the CPU make the catch. Once the catch is made, then I will control the ball carrier again.
*Will update along the way...

After Finalizing Contracts, Rookies Gear Up For Camp And Preseason
Texans Insider Report -- Posted By mvp
On a team that could use help at just about every position, the Houston Texans addressed several important needs in this year’s draft.
The Texans won just four games last season for the second straight year after winning the AFC South the previous two seasons as they traded or released almost all their stars.
Houston hadn’t had a first-round draft pick since 2019, but had two this season to help boost the talent on this rebuilding team.
The Texans used the No. 3 pick on LSU cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. and traded down from the 13th pick they received as part of the Deshaun Watson trade to No. 15 to get offensive lineman Kenyon Green later in the first round.
New head coach Lovie Smith, who was promoted from defensive coordinator following David Culley’s firing after one season, said earlier this month that the Texans couldn’t play the type of football they want to play if they didn’t get better at cornerback.
The addition of the talented Stingley should certainly help in that area. He had six interceptions and broke up 15 passes as a freshman in 2019 to earn All-America honors, but has played just 10 games in the last two seasons because of injuries. He played just three games last season before having foot surgery.
Now that the rookies have all finalized their contracts, here's a look at each of the picks:
The Texans cornerback earned a nice deal after being selected as the third overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft as he’ll be making a contract worth $34.6 million all guaranteed with an average salary of nearly $8.7 million per year. Stingley Jr. is penciled in as a starter for Week 1 his rookie season, and he’ll be needed to help a struggling secondary from a season ago.
This was a huge pick by the Texans as Kenyon Green being the 15th player off the board in the ’22 draft now has signed a contract with the following terms: four years, $15.9 million (all guaranteed). The 21-year-old offensive lineman has the ability to play guard and tackle, plus he’ll give added protection for Davis Mills, which is at the top of the list of priorities for Houston this offseason. Green will average around $3.9 million per season.
The Houston Texans drafted Jalen Pitre with a second round pick (37th overall), and he’ll be paired with Derek Stingley Jr. to give the Texans a rookie secondary that will be eager to impress their first season in the NFL. Pitre’s contract is for four years for $8.95 million with $4.8 million guaranteed. Pitre will be a solid player to add to the secondary as the Texans needed a lot of help at the position, especially after players left the team from last season. Pitre is a part of a new era for the Houston defense.
The newest wide receiver for the Texans, John Metchie III will be an excellent addition at slot for the offense. Metchie was the 44th overall selection and the second pick for the Texans in the second round. The rookie’s contract is four years for $8.07 million with $4.921 million guaranteed. When he’s able to be on the field with Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins in ’22, that trio will be special to watch with Davis Mills as the quarterback.
Christian Harris is a nice add to the linebacker roster of the Houston Texans, and this draft choice was great because the depth chart of the Houston linebackers needed a boost of youth mixed in with some of the veteran players. Harris will mostly see time in the middle linebacker spot, but will have to fight for snaps.
This is one of the best draft choices made by the Texans during the ’22 NFL Draft, and he’ll be an impactful player for the Houston offense. Pierce’s contract is four years for $4.475 million with $815,000 guaranteed. He’ll be averaging $1.118 million per season though the four-year contract. Pierce can become a solid player for the Texans if they use him to offset the play of veteran Marlon Mack.
Adding a rookie to the defensive line will be a huge help, especially with that defensive tackle being Thomas Booker of Stanford. Booker will be on a four-year contract worth $3.996 million with $336,412 guaranteed. Booker should get a good amount of time in the middle of the trenches in Lovie Smith’s defense his rookie season.
Rookie tight end Teagan Quitoriano will be on a four-year, $3.956 million deal with $296,144 guaranteed. He’ll have to battle his way onto the roster, but his addition through the draft means there will be some good competition at the tight end position during camp.
The final draft pick of the Texans was LSU offensive tackle Austin Deculus, as he’ll be competing for a spot on the depth chart at tackle. Deculus signed a $3.882 million contract for four years with $162,752 guaranteed.
