Wynn once again sidelined as Pats to be without five starters against the Miami Dolphins
The New England Patriots have ruled out left tackle Isaiah Wynn for their upcoming divisional matchup with the Miami Dolphins after the 28-year old tore his abdomen against the San Francisco 49ers last week.
Wynn is one of five starters that won't play this Sunday against Miami, joining fellow offensive linemen Laken Tomlinson along with linebacker Gio Whitfield, safety Jalen Catalon and cornerback Jaire Alexander, who injured his shoulder at practice this week.
Alexander's injury isn't expected to sideline him beyond this week and New England also expects to have Tomlinson back next week as well. It's more touch and go with Wynn, Whitfield and Catalon who could miss several games.
For Wynn, it keeps his unlucky streak alive of never playing a full season since being drafted in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He's set to make $16 million next season and $16.9 million the year after.
His likely replacement is veteran Russell Okung although another option might be rookie Tyler Patterson that's flashed this season. Patterson has primarily played right tackle when Trent Brown was injured and also some interior play but long term, New England does view him as a potential franchise left tackle.

Offense erupts in fourth quarter as Pats come out on top against Dolphins in AFC East clash
Since joining the Miami Dolphins, Deshaun Watson has had his way with the New England Patriots, routinely throwing for nearly 400 hundred yards against New England's defense.
Even with Watson throwing for 342 yards, New England's defense came out on top with three fourth quarter interceptions to secure an happy ending against the Dolphins in a 26-20 victory for the Patriots.
After a defensive battle through three quarters that saw just sixteen combined points, both offenses exploded for a 30-point fourth quarter. It began with Mac Jones, whose receivers struggled with drops throughout the game, connecting with Darnell Washington for 15 yards and then Charleston Rambo for a 25-yard gain to get them at the Miami 10-yard line. Jones then found Rambo in the endzone to take the 13-10 lead.
Jones completed just 43 percent of his pass attempts as Jonnu Smith dropped four passes, Odell Beckham Jr. and Charleston Rambo dropped three a piece and DeVante Parker and Kenny McIntosh each had a drop.
Miami tied the game on the ensuing possession but after a three-and-out by New England, the Dolphins were unable to take advantage of it with Watson being picked off by Trez Marshall. New England only got a field goal out of it but Watson would be intercepted twice on the next two drives to lead to a Kenneth Walker touchdown with 2:03 left in the game to make it 26-13.
Watson responded with a 61-yard bomb to Jacory Gramble to set up Mike Gesicki's two-yard touchdown but all it did was massage the eventual loss as New England recovered the onside kick.

Jets offense completely grounded in loss to Patriots
After starting the season with a couple of lackluster performances despite a high payroll, New England's defense has managed to turn it around, nearly shutting out the New York Jets in their latest performance in a 21-3 victory for the Patriots on Sunday.
The Jets had just 189 yards of total offense and were held to sixty-nine yards on the ground by New England's top ranked rushing defense. Zach Wilson had a passer rating of 53.7 with a 52 percent completion percentage and throwing for just 185 yards with an interception and no touchdowns.
Fellow draft classmate Mac Jones dealt with some early struggles with two first half interceptions and six drops from his receivers but rallied back to throw two touchdowns to help New England seal the game.
The star of the offense was Damien Harris who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown.
