Pats finish just outside of the playoffs :drose:

Got trapped in the trap game. Unfortunate but playoffs is here!
Playoffs are playoffs, would've been nice to get a bye though now I get Jordan Love :letsgo:

Kyler got the last laugh. If Geno played, that game might’ve played out a little different.

easy dub against the packers and if the vikings/panthers win their respective matchups, pretty smooth sailing to the NFC championship game

// 'Black Monday' sees 3 head coaches fired
This week marked an unfortunate annual tradition across the NFL: Black Monday.

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley, Las Vegas Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels, and Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera were all fired by their respective teams on Black Monday in 2024. The Commanders also parted ways with defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio.

Staley has been with the Chargers since 2021 and coached the Chargers to a playoff appearance last season when Los Angeles infamously blew a 27-0 lead to lose to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Chargers finished the 2023 NFL season with a 7-10 record and missed the playoffs for the 2nd time in Staley's three years as head coach. During his tenure, he has been routinely criticized for his decision-making as well as his inability to get more production and consistency from a star-studded roster that includes Justin Herbert, Austin Ekeler, Keenan Allen, Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, Derwin James Jr., and many more players. The Chargers finished 3rd in the NFL in total offense but 28th in total defense. They were also one of the worst teams in the red zone, converting on just 52% of their opportunities.

McDaniels was fired by the Raiders just 2 seasons after taking the reins last year. Las Vegas finished with the worst record in the AFC West and had the 2nd-worst record in the NFL at 4-13, ranking as one of the worst teams on offense (25th), defense (26th), and third down conversions (28th). Simply put, McDaniels - considered an offensive mastermind - was unable to put things together with Jimmy Garoppolo and the rest of the Raiders. Davante Adams finished what could be considered one of the worst seasons of his career despite catching 13 touchdowns - he averaged just 65.8 receiving yards per game, the lowest since his 2017 season.

The Commanders finished with the NFL's worst record, prompting the firing of Rivera, who has coached Washington since 2020. In 4 seasons, Rivera has led the Commanders to just one postseason appearance that ended in a wild card defeat to the Buccaneers. Washington struggled under new starting quarterback Sam Howell, averaging an NFL-worst 15.4 points per game while having one of the worst defenses in the league, which also led to the firing of Del Rio. It is rumored that the Commanders will look internally for their next head coach, with offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy's name being mentioned as the early leader. There were numerous discussions around the league last season about Bieniemy, the former Kansas City offensive coordinator, being considered as head coach for multiple teams.

Seems like the NFC has a decent shot at the Super Bowl - loads of crazy matchup possibilities.

If you let Jordan Love bounce you out...

I'm outright scared of the Eagles but let's get past the Packers first

// Pre-Snap Reads, Wild Card Weekend: No Regrets, says Carroll, and the Packers
// BY TERRENCE ROBINSON

RENTON, Wash. - Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll isn't interested in fielding anymore questions related to his decision to play some starters in Seattle's season finale loss to the Cardinals that effectively knocked them out of contention for the number 1 seed and a first-round bye, saying that it's time to focus on the present and work on advancing to the NFC divisional round of the playoffs.

In last week's loss, offensive tackle Charles Cross sustained a torn labrum. Team doctors don't expect him to be back until Super Bowl weekend, should the Seahawks make it to the final game of the 2023 NFL season.

"It's the nature of the game and it was an unfortunate injury," said Carroll. "We were playing for an extra week of rest and couldn't come up with the win, so now we move on like any other week and focus on the next game. We've been hit with several injuries to important guys this year and have responded well."

The Seahawks will also be without starting center Evan Brown against the Green Bay Packers, the team's wild card opponent. This leaves Seattle playing 2 backups on the offensive line - Stone Forsythe and Olu Oluwatimi. In fact, the Seahawks haven't had a fully healthy starting offensive line since Week 3 of the season, only starter that hasn't had to miss time is right tackle Abraham Lucas. Their 12 wins is a testament to how resilient the line has been. Even with a banged up group, the Seahawks still led the NFL with 167.3 rushing yards per game, their highest average since 2020 (160.0 yards per game). Seattle also ranks 6th in passing yards per game.

Here's what Carroll had to say about the Packers:
"Jordan's (Love) showing the league what he can do with the offense and Matt (LaFleur) has done a great job with his team overall. Their defense has looked pretty tough this year and I feel like they've gotten stronger with every game...had to win a big one last week to get to today. Luckily we get them in our house and we're ready to have the 12s behind us for this one, they've been loud all season and we'll want them even louder on Saturday."

Hopefully the offensive line can hold up. Don't get trapped again. It's game time :blessed:
