Lakers suffer worst loss of the season at the hands of the Celtics

Recap of Lakers/Celtics game played on February 1, 2024
1st Quarter
Austin Reaves started the game hitting two straight three-pointers, giving the Lakers an early 6-2 lead, but the Celtics scored eight straight points to take a 10-6 lead early in the quarter. A three-pointer by D'Angelo Russell and layup by Jarred Vanderbilt gave the Lakers the lead 11-10. Christian Wood's three-pointer gave the Lakers a 16-15 lead and then two free throws by Christian Wood would later tie the game, 18-18. A late three-pointer by Taurean Prince gave the Lakers a 21-20 lead and that would be the last lead they had in the game. The Celtics would take the lead for good on a dunk by Payton Pritchard, 22-21 to end the first quarter.
2nd Quarter
The Celtics got back-to-back dunks from Neemias Queta to start the second quarter, putting them up 26-21. Christian Wood, knocked down two more three-pointers, the first one getting the Lakers back to within two points, 26-24 and the second one, 29-27. Boston increased their lead to eight on a three-point play by Jayston Tatum, 40-32, but the Lakers would score five in a row to trail 40-37. Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday hit back-to-back three-pointers putting the Celtics up by eleven, 48-37 and Al Horford would finish the first half with a jumpshot that pushed the lead up to thirteen, 52-39.
3rd Quarter
D'Angelo Russell hit a three-pointer, cutting the Celtics lead to 54-42, but the Celtics went on a massive 23-2 run and increased their lead to a then game high thirty-three points, 77-44. The Celtics continued to pour it on the Lakers and their lead reached thirty-five points at the end of the quarter, 90-55.
4th Quarter
The game firmly in control Boston maintained their lead of thirty or more throughout the final quarter. The only bright spot for the Lakers was their shots began to fall, but the game had already been decided. The Celtics went on to defeat the Lakers 125-95, handing the Lakers their third loss in four games on their current road trip.
