WWE to Launch Faction Wars Heading into Wrestlemania Season

With Wrestlemania just three months away, WWE is looking to make a change to spice up things heading into the end of the season. Fans have enjoyed seeing the recent alignment of upstart superstar Xixak with Hurricane and X-Pac to form a new version of D-Generation X, and WWE have seen that and decided to respond by leaning into the factions model. The roster will be leaned out to 32 superstars with every single star being a member of a 4-person faction going forwards. Each of the factions will feature one main event superstar, one mid-card superstar and a tag team. The main eventers will compete for a redesigned WWE Championship, currently held by Kurt Angle. The mid-carders will compete for Shawn Michaels' Intercontinental Championship as the United States Championship becomes defunct. And finally, the tag teams will compete for the World Tag Team Championship held by D-Generation X.

The teams will be announced in following updates to this one. The presence of these factions should make the upcoming Royal Rumble interesting, with teams vying hard to get one of their leaders to finish line to cash in for a title shot at Wrestlemania.
