DOMINIQUE TOVELL ENDS THE GAME WITH A 4TH DOWN SACK IN OVERTIME
ULL survived a scare from UAB to come away with a 32-24 overtime win. The Blazers trailed for most of the game but scored on a 56 yard pass with 36 seconds left to tie the game and take it to overtime.

After each team scored in the first two overtimes the Cajuns went up 32-24 to start the third overtime on a Terrance Broadway to Scott Austin touchdown pass then added the two point conversion.

Facing a fourth down UAB's Austin Brown was sacked by Dominique Tovell to end the game and secure the win for ULL. The sack was Tovell's third of the day and the team's seventh.

Coach Davis' Take
With all the pressure in the world on us during that last possession we buckled down and Dominique (Tovell) made a hell of a play. Overall a good game defensively. That fourth quarter deep ball score was a tough one to give up but ultimately the defense was able to shake it off and go back out there and make the plays that ultimately won us the game. Very proud of everyone today.

Coach Davis' Take
Overall excellent execution by the entire defense. Our blitz package was excellent and they had a lot of trouble blocking us up. Coach Carter had the secondary ready to play so we were able to unleash the front seven. Great, great game. Stopped them three times on fourth down too. Got to love a shutout.

JUNIOR CB JEVANTE WATSON'S PICK SIX PROVED TO BE THE DIFFERENCE IN THE GAME
The Ragin' Cajuns went up to Boise and upset the Broncos on the smurf turf by a score of 17-10. Boise is now 0-3 on the season and looking for answers.

The ULL defense harassed Broncos' QB Nick Patti all game, sacking him three times and forcing a pick six. Patti completed just 21 of his 39 pass attempts in the loss.

Jevante Watson made a great play on a pass in the second quarter and picked it off and took it back 50 yards for six.

Late in the game Boise State had a pair of chances to tie the game but the Louisiana-Lafayette defense stepped up and protected the lead.

After a 65 yard run by Jay Ajayi put Boise State at the ULL seven yard line Patti was sacked by senior linebacker Christian Sager for a seven yard loss. A few plays later Boris Anyama and Trevence Patt stopped Boise State runningback Aaron Baltazar for a loss on fourth and goal.

Senior cornerback Corey Trim broke up a pass at the ULL six yard line on the final play of the game.

Coach Davis' Take
Our defense has just been on a roll these past two games. There's a lot of intimidation in Boise and those guys didn't get at all rattled by it. We adjusted our gameplan for this game and it worked. They've got some playmakers. Ajayi broke a couple on us but for the most part we kept them in check and got out of there with a big win. Offense played a smart, efficient game too.

JUNIOR CB JEVANTE WATSON PICKED OFF HIS FOURTH PASS OF THE SEASON
In a game that was much, much closer than any expert had predicted Louisiana-Lafayette hung with Ole Miss before giving up a late touchdown to lose 27-24 in Oxford, Mississippi.

"We gave them all they wanted, that's for damn sure." ULL head coach Jay Johnson said after the close loss. "One of those 'a play here or there games' you know?"

Ole Miss senior quarterback Bo Wallace bounced back from an early interception and drove the Rebels down the field for the winning score after trailing with less than two minutes left to play.

ULL held their SEC opponent under 400 total yards and kept their offense in the game despite the Cajuns only being able to muster 67 yards rushing. Cajuns' QB Terrance Broadway played a great game, passing for 241 yards and two scores with no turnovers. Broadway also ran for 26 yards and a score.

"You'd love to win a game like this." Coach Johnson added. "But there's still a lot of positives we can take away from a game like this one."

Louisiana will now move onto their conference schedule and look to be the favorites to win the Sun Belt at this point. They'll start things off with New Mexico State in two weeks.

Coach Davis' Take
We went into an undefeated SEC team's house and gave them all they wanted and hey, it sucks to lose but there's a lot to be proud of from this game. We're not hanging our heads after this one that's for sure. We mixed in some new looks and the guys picked up on them and executed them. Close game, we'll learn from it and move on.
