San Antonio's newly formed Big Three has the Spurs poised to compete for the franchise's sixth NBA championship
The San Antonio Spurs' resurgent season last year wimped out in the NBA Play-In Tournament, losing back-to-back games as the seventh seed to find themselves once more out of the playoffs.

Even with the massive improvement in Victor Wembanyama's second season, the Spurs front office remained aggressive, landing Zion Williamson from the New Orleans Pelicans in the offseason via a trade that would help the Spurs capture the NBA Emirates Cup. Even that wasn't enough for the front office as within twenty-four hours of beating Indiana in Las Vegas, they finalized a trade to bring De'Aaron Fox to San Antonio, only losing Tre Jones, Zach Collins and two first round picks to pair Wemby with not one but now two All-Star talents in their quest to conquer the West.

At the top of the Western conference, it's Dallas, followed by San Antonio, Sacramento, Oklahoma City and Minnesota. The Mavericks are 6-4 in their last ten since trading Luka Doncic and are now reliant on two injury prone players in Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving. Sacramento's depth remains impressive, aided by the Fox trade, and are in the midst of a five-game winning streak but in the playoffs, when it's time to tighten the lineups, it's hard to imagine them rolling out something that can compete with the Spurs' top guys. Oklahoma City and Minnesota remain formidable threats but with Fox and Williamson now at Wembanyama's side, the MVP candidate is now armed and ready to take on some of the top dogs.
