Racing Louisville FC Will Return To The Pitch On August 23rd As International Play Starts.
Racing Louisville FC heads into the NWSL’s midseason break on the heels of a hard-fought 2-2 draw against the San Diego Wave on July 11. Their next match is set for August 23 on the road against the Washington Spirit — but there’s already plenty happening off the pitch.
With the transfer window officially open as of July 1, Racing has made another roster change, selling right midfielder Emma Sears to the North Carolina Courage for $56,000. It's a solid pickup for the Courage, but the move leaves Racing’s midfield depth dangerously thin heading into the second half of the season. While Scarlett Camberos & Janine Beckie have been impressive, Racing will still need to add more depth to rotate the players out.
Left midfielders Uchenna Kanu, Kayla Fischer, and Maddie Pokorny are all on expiring deals, and so far, no extensions have been offered. That puts extra pressure on head coach Filipa Patão and the Racing front office to find reinforcements before the window slams shut on August 31.
With a playoff push still within reach, expect Patão and company to be aggressive in the coming weeks — especially when it comes to adding a new midfield wing to bolster the squad.

Racing Louisville FC Makes a Splash, Signs Erëleta Memeti to Bolster Midfield Depth.
With midfield depth becoming the biggest concern, Racing Louisville FC wasted no time making a move. The club announced today the signing of Kosovo international Erëleta Memeti on a five-year deal, a bold move that signals Racing’s intent to stay competitive down the stretch.
Racing paid a $93,000 transfer fee to TSG Hoffenheim to secure Memeti’s services and will pay the 25-year-old winger $6,000 per week. The signing comes at a crucial time, following the sale of Emma Sears to North Carolina Courage and with midfielders Uchenna Kanu, Kayla Fischer, and Maddie Pokorny all on expiring contracts.
Known for her explosive pace, sharp decision-making, and ability to play on either flank, Memeti brings immediate versatility to Filipa Patão’s squad. She is expected to back up both Scarlett Camberos on the right and Janine Beckie on the left, offering Racing valuable rotation options as the club gears up for a playoff push. It's also worth mentioning that Janine Beckie's contract has one year left, meaning this transfer puts Racing Louisville FC in a good position for the future moving forward.
Memeti had been one of the rising stars of the Frauen-Bundesliga, contributing five goals and six assists this season for TSG Hoffenheim. A regular starter for Kosovo's national team, where she has earned over 30 caps, Memeti’s technical ability and attacking instincts should fit well into Patão’s high-tempo system.
"We are thrilled to welcome Erëleta to Racing Louisville," Patão said in a statement. "Her work rate, flexibility, and international experience make her an ideal addition to our squad, both now and for the future."
Memeti will also join former Frauen-Bundesliga player Sophia Kleinherne, who signed with Racing Louisville before the NWSL season started.
With the signing of Memeti, it appears that Racing Louisville's transfer budget is nearly drained for the rest of the season, unless an offer to buy a player transpires ahead of the transfer window closing on August 31. Racing returns to action on August 23 against the Washington Spirit, and fans may not have to wait long to see their newest signing in action.

Pikkujämsä Signs 3-Year Contract Extension With Racing Louisville FC.
Despite seeing a catastrophic drop in playing time, Ellie Pikkujämsä & Racing Louisville FC have agreed on a 3-year contract extension that will see the defender paid $2,700 weekly.
After filling a starting role in 2024, Pikkujämsä has only appeared in one game in 2025, mainly due to the signing of the highly skilled defender from Germany, Sophia Kleinherne.
"She wants to compete & her spirits are always high. She loves this team, this city, & we're happy to keep her around for at least 3 more years." Head coach Filipa Patão said after the extension was finalized.
This marks Racing's first contract extension amid a plethora of expiring contracts for the club.

Got your shit kicked around in that one
Yeah quite one-sided in that one. They're exchanging first place with NJ/NY Gotham which just so happens to be our next opponent
