Palis put 2 on the board for us but nobody else could step up when it mattered.

Hell of a season for Racing. It is what it is. Time to get better & try again. Third times a charm, right?

I really wanted that win against the KC Current so bad. Those two goals they scored on me in extra time absolutely hurt me after having so much fun with this squad across our 26 games in the regular season. It would have been so epic to have Palis score late as she did twice against them but every look I got wasn't good enough to score.

Chin's high & season 3 is on the horizon. It's transfer window time.

Filipa Patão’s Second Season Cements Racing Louisville as a NWSL Powerhouse-in-the-Making.

Image

After a groundbreaking debut campaign that saw Racing Louisville FC reach the NWSL Playoffs for the first time in club history, head coach Filipa Patão returned for year two with ambition—and a plan. That plan didn’t just match her first-year success; it blew expectations out of the water.

Patão’s second season in charge saw the club undergo a tactical and cultural transformation. Transitioning from her season-one 4-2-3-1 to a more dynamic 4-4-2, Patão unlocked a new identity for her squad—one built on aggression, fluidity, and attacking verve. Nowhere was this more evident than in the performances of new signing Ella Palis, whose emergence as a superstar shocked the league. Initially brought in for midfield depth and defensive steel, Palis exploded onto the scene, netting 20 goals and capturing the NWSL Golden Boot, becoming the heartbeat of Racing’s revamped attack.

Alongside Palis, fellow new signing Sophia Kleinherne anchored the backline with poise and grit. The German international’s leadership and defensive acumen stabilized a unit that had been shaky the year before, helping transform Racing into a more complete and balanced team on both ends of the pitch.

Despite the strides, Racing once again fell short of the ultimate prize, exiting the NWSL Playoffs before reaching the championship match. But this time, the disappointment feels different. There's no talk of overachievement or "just happy to be here." Patão has changed the narrative. Racing Louisville is no longer a plucky underdog—they're contenders.

“It’s not enough anymore to make the playoffs,” Patão said after their postseason exit. “We’re building a legacy. We’re here to win titles.”

Under her fierce leadership, Racing Louisville FC has become one of the most exciting, evolving stories in the NWSL. With Palis ascending, Kleinherne solidifying the backline, and a clear identity forming, the foundation has been laid. Year three under Filipa Patão isn’t just about progression—it’s about finishing the job.

Racing Louisville Say Goodbye to Beckie and Milliet, Eye Defensive Reinforcements Ahead of New Season.

Image

Racing Louisville FC continue to reshape their roster heading into a pivotal third season under head coach Filipa Patão, officially announcing the departures of Janine Beckie and Lauren Milliet in two major transfers that bring both roster change and financial flexibility.

Beckie has been transferred to the Washington Spirit for $80,000, while Milliet, the club’s longtime right back and a dependable starter, heads overseas to Real Sociedad in Spain for the same amount. The two moves add $160,000 in total funds, with $100,000 being newly allocated to Racing’s transfer budget.

While saying farewell to two veterans marks the end of an era in Louisville, the club’s recent signing of Erëleta Memeti during season two signaled their intent to move forward. Memeti’s rise in the midfield offers a new dimension in Patão’s attacking structure and effectively fills the creative gap left by Beckie.

Still, questions remain—particularly in defense. The loss of Milliet follows the earlier departure of Courtney Peterson, who left to join Bayer Leverkusen, leaving Racing without both of its starting fullbacks from last season. As the club eyes another playoff push and a deeper title run, defensive reinforcements will now be a top priority in the transfer window.

With flexibility in hand and a clear vision under Patão, Racing Louisville are well-positioned to reload—and aim even higher.

Kosovare Asllani to Retire at End of 2026 Season, Eyes Storybook Finish with Racing Louisville

Image

Racing Louisville FC captain Kosovare Asllani has officially announced that the 2026 season will be her last, bringing an end to a remarkable career that exceeded all expectations in Louisville.

When the Swedish international joined Racing ahead of the 2024 campaign, she was seen as a veteran addition meant to bolster the bench and provide leadership. Instead, she became a revelation. Asllani earned a starting role almost immediately, finishing her debut NWSL season with 14 goals—fifth-best in the league—and followed it up in year two with 12 more goals, again ranking fifth league-wide.

Her leadership, consistency, and clutch performances helped transform Racing into a perennial playoff team. Beloved by fans and revered in the locker room, Asllani now prepares to take one final bow with the club that reignited her late-career renaissance.

With the stakes higher than ever, Racing Louisville will rally behind their captain as they chase an NWSL title—not just for the city, but for the legend wearing the armband.
