I was so confused for a sec. Was ready to troll for the 0-4 record, then saw you had a guy with 4 goals

did not realize there was a United and a Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday was founded as The Wednesday Cricket Club in 1820 because they met on Wednesdays to play cricket. The soccer portion of that club formed in 1867 called The Wednesday Football Club. They were unofficially called Sheffield Wednesday in the 1800s but changed their name officially in 1929.

Sheffield United was also founded as the offshoot of a cricket club, Sheffield United Cricket Club--which was the first sports entity to have "United" in its name. The Wednesday Cricket Club and Sheffield United Cricket Club shared a stadium, Bramall Lane, with Sheffield F.C., the oldest club in the world (hence the name of the chise). When The Wednesday Football Club left Bramall Lane, Sheffield United Cricket Club created a new club to occupy the stadium, Sheffield United Football Club. Interestingly enough, this is how many clubs in England were created (Liverpool, for example, was created the same way). #TheMoreYouKnow
